Salvage bud rot

Hello,

I have five potted pineapple haze feminized trees all but one around 6.5 feet tall. The stunted one I believe due to it’s compacted buds held too much moisture and believe it started the spores. The North East USA got hit with a wet summer and I have now developed bud rot on three of the five. I just noticed it a day ago and started to carefully trim away the black moldy looking buds washing shears and hands. Can I salvage this crop? And can I use the rotted buds for oil?

Thank you for your help!

I would discard any buds with rot to be safe. Spray anything not infected with a 50/50 peroxide water mix and will help from spreading. Sorry to hear that.

The peroxide mixture should stop the spread? Thanks for the quick response, yeah I’m pretty defeated tonight. I was proud of my first grow outdoors and this just gut punched me so close to harvest.

Thats right dont risk lung infection. So I removed some a few days ago and like I do removed well past the rot about three buds or inches on each side, and took the good buds home to dry. The “good” buds that were next to the brown ones. In two days half of them turned brown and had to be thrown out. Just sayin remove past the rot and whatever’s nearly touching it

I just went throught this indoors from a power outage. It sucks but I threw out anything that was questionable. Not worth the risk.

Yeah, I figured as such. So sad to have to throw it out. It’s a learning experience, I’ll just have to pay more attention to moisture next season. Thanks for the quick response!

Im spreading them out more next year. couple here, couple there. because the next yard over plant is totally fine. seems to change from one end of the field to the other.

One good thing you can do outdoors…shake off excessive moisture or dew in the morning to help prevent it. I know guys that use leaf blowers lol. Does not help with continuous rain. Im in the northeast as well.

I was actually thinking of using my leaf blower earlier in the season LMAO

I was actually just talking about that with the wife. Pepper the plants around the property in each of our veggie gardens or our orchard. That may workout better than bunching them together, plus may not attract admirers
