Roots organics original is what I have on hand; I am wondering if it will be okay to put Auto babies in after their initial tail pop?!? Is it alittle on the hotter side/ comparable to FFOF?
Roots Organic is nothing like Ocean Forest!
From their website:
“Roots Organics Original is a ready to use mix created with a balanced air to water ratio of porosity and water retention to allow for frequent feeding of fast growing, heavy feeding plants. For exceptional results, feed with high quality nutrients, such as the Roots Organics fertilizer line.”
Meaning that there is almost no nutrients found in the mix. You need to be an aggressive feeder.
“Ingredients: Perlite, coco fiber, peat moss, composted forest material, pumice, worm castings, bat guano, soybean meal, alfalfa meal, fishbone meal, kelp meal, greensand, mycorrhizal fungi.”
Anything coco or peat based is has no nutrients other then those things that are added. They also have superior water drainage to soil, and unlike soil you need to keep coco and peat based products wet all the time, water daily or more often.
I don’t know that I would say this about roots original. It’s definitely a little more airy than ocean forest, but also has pretty solid nutrient charge. I would expect it to feed plants for a few weeks without issue.
That being said, I didn’t really have any issue starting seeds in it either.
Thank you very much for the valuable input!
It’s kind of like OF but it is seedling friendly and doesn’t need more perlite added in. You can veg with if for 4-5 weeks, no nutes added, just like ocean forest but you can also drop your germinated seed in it. And it holds ph much better than OF.
Old thread but great info. Going to drop 2 Durban poison autos from Humboldt seeds in roots organic , in a 3 gallon fabric with a HLG 200 r spec in a 1 -1/2 x2 tent. I did a run off test and it is amended but I forgot what the Ppm came out to was about 8 months ago. I was just checking if I can add some more dry amendments before I drop to stay ahead of game thanks.
@OneLife ,I did a run of them from ILGM time before last. In the root’s from start to finish. They turned out great. I also fed them Jack’s from the get go. The only dry I used was Azos at transplant. They were in 5 gal cloth under a 600 r spec in a 4x5 room. Never did any runoff tests, maybe once . Just ph water and correct ec.
Thank you appreciate you sharing that. I looked at the RO Again and it’s the roots organic lush. Highly amended.
@Budbrother if you get the time I ran across some things I would like your input on. The web site is
Products are if your familiar with them
PurEndo Mycorrhizae (1lb bag)
Hyphalink Nourish AN (2x, 2lb bag) (drench/foliar)
GroBiotix PX3 (1 qt) (foliar)
F-AO +7 (2.5 gal) (drench/foliar) (highlighted +7 because you want the micronutrient formula).
FH 2-3-1 (2.5 gal) (drench ONLY, in veg ONLY)
Cal-Sea-Hum (1 gal) (foliar ONLY, in flower ONLY, up to 10 days before harvest, at which point you should be flushing with plain water)

LC 0-0-5 (1gal) (foliar, flower only
I also have a schedule when and how to use
Mycos, yes
GroBiotics, no, but would be EM, so yes
ThermX70, love it, but don’t need a gal.
All others I am unfamiliar
Thanks for your reply
Been thinking of getting some EM 1 for teas , never tried it
I see on
teraganix. Web site it even gives a brew using it and molasses, and just leaving it sit for 7 days before use. Would it be ok to make a compost tea with earthworm casting and compost aerate for 24 -48 hours would there be any benefits from that short of time ?
