New grower bought a spider farmer sf1000 last week, these sprouted 5 days ago and I don’t know what’s going on with the stretching but I know it can’t be good lowered the light today to 4 inches above the tops.

If you can help I would appreciate it

Your sprouts stretched because they were too far from the light at first (or light dimmed down too much), but 4" is too close, is the light dimmed? 18-20 inches above plants at 100% power should be good, move light down a couple inches if plants continue to stretch.

LOL, question asked twice and totally ignored, probably is an answer in itself.

The light was about 16 inches from my Durban poison plants at 80% then I went down to 9 inches at the same power, they have been up now for 5 days now.
Would it be bad to alternate direct sunlight in the afternoon while the sun is bright and back under the lights near evening or should I just leave the under the light, I’m doing 18 6 right now.
Thanks very much for the help and have a great thanksgiving.

I’d just leave them under the light on 18/6. Using the sun can cause other issues, thru a window - not enough light or taking them outside opens them up to all the pests out there.

You can fix the stretchy stems when you transplant, just put them in a little deeper.

Just be careful. Although it does not appear so; LED lamps can burn plants even though it does not appear hot. I advise you buy a 24" x 2T5 lamp for seedlings. You can place that 1.5" above the tops and be safe.

Thanks for the well wishes. I sat alone until the Ol’ Lady brought me a plate from the dinner she cooked for another family. Just watched football. Be safe and thanks again.
