So I bought this, without doing research

Great light for the price. Will flower a 2x2 area without problems or it should. Tthere are quite a few out there with sf lights and so far not a bad complaint yet that ive seen.
I have 2 of them, they are good lights for their size.
Sf makes good stuff at a decent price great customer service I have three sf lights but not a 1000 , I bought them at different times so obviously I like sf. Good luck
What size or type SF lights do you run?
I have 2 sf2000 and a sf7000 the 7000 is obviously new so I’m just learning it. I bought the second 2000 to put in a 4x4 tent with the first one. Long story short the 7000 wasn’t planned I bought it at 2 am the night after I had surgery I was not in my right mind. I wasn’t planning on expanding hell I just bought the second 2000 in Nov
So I’m installing the spider farmer sf 1000 tonight and, hopefully, it doesn’t stress my baby’s out to much with the change…
They run lm301b and economy Meanwell drivers!
Only thing I’d like to see them do is add beafy heatsink to distribute and disperse heat better.
Lots of people use them here, best of luck if you have any technical issues we’re all pretty handy and knowledgeable with their components
Dial them all the way down before burning up the babies, then slowly turn up to where they are happy over the course of a few days
So from what I see, you have a much much bigger grow then me… I’m hoping that, because I only have 1 going into stretch, my light will be sufficient for it! I have 2 more ready to go once that one is done and, hopefully, will have obtained another light that will be sufficient for 2 plants. Im heavily into training and topping my plants to keep them to a suitable height as I have limited space.
GOLD!!! I am so glad I found ILGM and this forum, everyone has been so positive and helpful!!! Oh and yes, I wish they were better at dispersing heat but I have great ventilation and fans!
@TheChemist there’s nothing wrong with sf lights or the parts used to build them. The drivers are from the same company only the ones used by hlg are built in Taiwan instead of China and have more variety of wattage but are not superior in any tests I’ve seen also hlg uses H instead of B Samsung lm301 diodes which are 15% more efficient hlg has a broader spectrum of red sf has broader white spectrum.
I’ve did alot of research on sf lights before I bought my first one and imo the difference in the hlg lights are not enough to make up the price difference again my opinion
They aren’t, their boards are tho, and part them out for best price point then you’ll get the the performance of hlg for the cost of sf
I run a few xlg I bought because couldn’t beat the price, few months in with them and they’re just as good as the other hlg ones. Wiring is a bit different between them tho.
Lm301b and lm301h is same. Difference would be in voltage and flux bin used.
I have two of them in a 3x3x6 Spider farmer tent. I’m about half way through my 3rd grow using them. Great lights in my opinion but I have had to maintain about 24 inches from seedlings and very young vegetation growth to prevent light burn. They are a relatively cool light but it’s intense and will burn young leaves. I would certainly recommend it
Difference would be in a good deal
So as I read that Samsung says that there’s a difference? 5% not the 15% the article I read said
That article just almost proves what I said, difference is in bin. Here is screenshot from lm301b data sheet, it is also available in sl and even higher flux bin
The author didn’t have it, otherwise would have been an apples to apples test. Since it wasn’t, the article is pretty much just wrong and steering unsuspecting people who Google “lm301b vs lm301h” wrong.
The biggest amount of confusion here is there was a small error on one of the data sheets. And that Samsung never advertised the anti-sulfurization on the lm301b due to it not really being applicable outside of horticulture market.
@MeEasy, no big deal my dude. We are creatures of sharing the best information we have. And I’m well aware of how many of these reports are out there.
