The idea is with the tweezers you selectively pollinate one branch of a flowering female. Then usually cap it a week with a paper bag. Pollen isolation. You can do different branches with different pollen. Or just one branch and the rest is seedless. In practice I have found the pollen quite hard to isolate.
I have found it much easier to just do pollen runs in the off-season with baby clones or just sexed seedlings. So I don’t waste a lot of space with dead end crap seeds, and I can quickly reveg the winners into lovely spring starts. After pulling the seed and flowers. Then keep my harvest crops all seedless. Basically 2 distinct seasons. Seed runs in winter, big plants in the summer.
Essentially I can sprout that seasons “new” seeds, test them inside small Bansai, before their parents have even flowered outside. If they seems bad, I know a whole outdoor flower season ahead. Prevents wasting an outdoor season on inferior plants. I have gotten quite ruthless at culling. Hope that makes sense.
I’ll just stick to fem seeds

Ya, last nite was brutal! Went out around 11 to look for my BBQ cover, found it and brought it in. Garbage cans rolling around behind my truck, had to bring them into the garage (fortunately they were empty). And now we get that Russian winter…oh joy!
At least we didn’t lose power last nite, it did dim the lights several times, but they stayed on!

Yeah, we had a few flakes yesterday, and expecting more today. Cold and windy, and will be for the next several days. Like I need a reason to not go out in the yard and do any cleanup!
I get a lot of garbage from my neighbours blow into my yard. If I wait long enough, it blows down the street. Found the lid of my garbage can a block away couple of months ago during a windy period. At least I think it was mine, it is now! 
I moved dirt into the yard (1.5yards, Fri,Sat, and Sunday).
Covered low spots and added dirt for tulip protection.
They sprouted and now the cold is back.
I got my fence put in last September, and need about 7 yards of soil to raise the land to just under the bottom of the fence. The place I get my dirt from uses those white bags that hold a yard, they have an 80 foot boom that can plop them wherever you want. They can hold it about 3 feet above ground then cut the bag with a razor knife so I can have 7 piles roughly where I need them, then all I have to do is spread it evenly, not much wheelbarrowing it around. With this weather, haven’t wanted to do that yet, altho I need to soon so I can plant grass seed and make it a nice lawn! But too cold right now for me! Maybe in a couple of weeks I’ll get off my butt and do some yardwork!

Learned much about how my yard needs changes.
Working on it, takes time, since i am the sole worker.
Sunflowers and long beans to add on fence.

Closing tents in May. Dirt going outside for tomatoes.
Need 2 trees downed. Both mine, but in neighbors yard, once cut.
Disney in June, then Windy City, then July in Oregon.

I hear ya! I need my lawn dirt delivered, spread and seeded. Need to empty out last year’s garden of dead lettuce and kale, pick off the dried beans and peas for replanting. Clean off moss from roof and clean out gutters.
Will be doing my allowed 4 plants outdoors, all autos, after starting indoors next month. Finish off my tent next month then flip cellar dwellers, half in tent and half stay in cellar. Need some cutting off them before I flip tho, not for me, son-in-law’s dad so I can get some cuttings back end of August. So my tent and cellar should be empty by June. Outdoor 4 have to be dried and burped before Sri Lanka trip start of September.
Only thing I can do while we are away is set some cuttings in water to root. Plan on floating some styrofoam on water and poke the stems thru it into the water, then if the water level drops, the roots will still be in it and grow, ready to transplant when we get back late September.
Glad I have a stockpile of weed right now!
Yes, what joy life can bring. I am done seed mining and destroying immature buds from fall outdoor grow.
I hope the ladies in the other tent are avoiding the stud-boys.
Lots of seperation and some neutering, recently.
I spent the day (4 hrs, retired day) cutting apple branches and recutting for dragging to the fence-line.
Then I inter-wove and string-tied some branches to the fence.
Visiting other side of fence, trimmed-back the blackberry and concord grape hangers.
Interwove some with the grapes and re-directed towards yard.
Grapes and blackberries love climbing, clinging, and each other.
I survived without too many sticker-pokes or drawing blood, fortunately.
Cold, Cloudy, Overcast, but not raining, currently.
Beans, buds, and grog time.

Found that the HLG 350R at setting #4 is (200-Watts) and #7, is full on (350-watts).
Didn’t run LUX numbers because setting #4 or 5 is where i am running it.
Burped some bud jars and found three seeds.
Still cold, but the wind has slowed.
I guess the weather man was correct then
