Fortunate to have a day off from the job, I packed a couple of rifles and sufficient ammo. I landed on the 400 yard range after taking care of some chores.
This is the rifle I primarily wanted to shoot. It sits in my safe and is barely touched. It’s a M-1 Garand with matching numbers for January 1945. The rifle did not see combat in WW2 and ended up on a rack within the Civilian Marksmanship Program. It was purchased by a gentlemen in 1953 from CMP for less than $200. I purchased the rifle from this gentleman in 2011 and fired less than 100 rounds until today.
This one is a shooter! It’s gravy and that makes the recoil manageable. Striking steel at 300 yards is just fun.
30 cal! I had a M1 made by IBM. Most accurate gun I’ve every owned. Hitting a clay bird laying on a bank 200 yards away was a piece of cake. You have a awesome gun, I just would not want to see it from the other end with a thirty round clip
This one holds 8 total. General Patton said in the day it was the finest infantry weapon ever made and giving the time period, I believe he was correct
Seems a few more firearm nutz here, have lots and shoot lots and reload lots, my favorite is my 721 Remington in a 257 Roberts 1957 by serial, then my 1918 luger, then, then then, but my carry is a Browning Hi-power 9mm 1972.
Hard to beat a black rifle in .556 for home defense. I keep a mossberg 590 in the bedroom that collects dust and I wipe it off hoping that day never comes
Here here on that, but not taking chances here where we live it secluded and peaceful most of the times but the meth and crack has taken hold of the bored and jobless (their own doings)
