Questions About Coco

That, I do not know. I haven’t grown enough to distinguish the many traits I hear others talk about. I am currently smoking harvest 3 and about a month from harvest on 4. I have purchased and smoked some fine weed in my day and my grow quality ain’t there yet. I can’t blame the coco though, just me🙂

I think you got what you need, good thing too. I’ve only used coco mix within soil and was small amounts at that.

I’m in ProMix HP as well and been trying to keep my pH at 6.4. Should I have another target in ProMix HP? What are you keeping your pH at in Promix?

If I can find some locally, I’m gonna give it a try.

I’ve found that Promix is very forgiving and will work just fine in the higher Ph range at 6.4. Most people do Promix like hydro through and Ph it from 5.6 to 6.2.

My target ph with Promix is 6.0. But you can grow great cannabis at 6.4.

Here’s one other thing about coco vs Promix (peat): coco is a renewable resource and Promix is NOT. It is mined from fossil deposits (harvested?)

Picked up a bag of coco fiber. Even if I don’t like it, I can always just start seeds in it.

Also, my question was about coco not promix

Curious, you amending it at all with perlite or any organic nutrients, or just straight up coco?

I’m going to serve it neat to start with. Once the seedlings get going I’m going to use mega crop

Six pack dad curious you mentinnd smokes your third grow not quite there. Good soil ,lights nutriance and ILGM seeds what else. I fingered it would be great smoke if I got it harvest may be not the biggest buds but good. just about killed all of them couple of times that probably will effect potency. Thanks Stop

I picked up a bag of coco and will be putting the sprouted black widow seeds in it. Also thinking of trying one of my clones in it.

My first two grows, which were both autos and overlapped each other by about a month, were severely overnuted, ph was all over the place, ran high in temps and were to close to the light. I really didn’t have a clue until @bob31 got me on the path. I still got a decent harvest after correcting the pH and ppms of the nutes, but the high wasn’t quite where I wanted it to be.

My third grow started out great outdoors. Huge full LA confidentials. I brought them inside to avoid budrot. They got ravaged by mites and aphids. In this case the yield was reduced but I was more pleased with the high. I also cut down a bit early because I detected some bud rot, which I think attributed to some harshness in the smoke because there wasn’t time to flush.

So now in my fourth grow I’ve had some powdery mildew issues that I’ve used H2O2 to address. Time will soon tell what affect that will have on the smoke. I have 2-3 weeks left to harvest. It’s me vs the mold.

To summarize I am still a novice grower looking to achieve my first problem free grow. Maybe such a thing doesn’t exist, but I believe that goal will achieve top quality bud relative to what I’ve grown so far.

I’ve got a good thing going with my soil, lights, nutes, seed genes, and pH and ppm maintenance. What’s ahead for me is nailing temps and humidity, keeping the plants free of pests and mildew/rot, improving my area ventilation and landing the plane at harvest and not cutting early due to budtot.

Last, I haven’t bought weed in over a year. So while I look to achieve better quality, the quality has been plenty fine to suit the needs of my wife and I.

As long as you’re improving every grow, which you are, your winning.

Sounds very familiar to my grows in the past. My outdoor girl had budrot so I brought my younger girl into my tent with my indoor girl. Realized fast she was infested with spider mites. I got rid of those, took everything out of my tent and scrubbed every inch of my tent in bleach water. I feel for you. Don’t give up, your next grow will be much better. :slightly_smiling_face:

I guess we will run through all the little things that can go wrong to get better. I’m not out of the woods yet 2of my girls don’t look good 2other doing all right. Not real happy with happy monkey soil was thinking about switching over to coco I guess they all have their difficulties.

We can all read until we are retarded but in the end it’s all trial and error. I’m trying coco to battle pH issues and the need for more control over nutes. Was using FFOF.
