Decarb an oz of bud put in a mason jar and covered it with the 90 proof rum. Not sure about the concentrate part. this is my first time doing it.

Me either i’m trying this out for my wife who had spine surgery ( her neck) if she coughs she has a lot of pain so no smoking for awhile. Glad to have you tag along

OH yes gummies and THC infused sugar. There is a guy on youtube the wellness solider who has all kinds of recipe for cooking with cannabis that is where i got the idea for this Tincture.

You’ll be fine with a lid on if you’re not trying to evaporate it( why don’t you make a rum cake with it YUM)

I have tried it all and the only way its effective for me is just to smoke. I want a different way but my liver won’t
allow it.

Have you tried reducing a tincture down into a RSO and taking it that way? No alcohol left then, just the extracted THC.

I think most people who do it in a Mason jar keep it in the fridge or freezer and shake it every day or 2. Then strain it thru a coffee filter or cheesecloth and squeeze out the goodness. You can use it straight then or reduce down and make gummies. I use the magic butter but basically the same idea.

I haven’t made a tincture as of yet.
190 proof is insanely expensive even when you do find it.
I would think a good shine would work in place of or be the same as the store bought.
Watching this for ideas.

I make tinctures with Everclear 190. Decarboxolate first, freeze trim/bud then add icy cold Everclear. I used to let it sit in the freezer for 5 days and shake it as many times a day as I could but thanks to @blackthumbetty, she recommends me doing a quick wash (like shake for a few minutes very rigorously then strain and do a second wash that can sit in freezer for up to 48 hours and strain again. I guess the longer you let it soak the more of everything you wash off whereas the quick wash gets off mainly just the trichomes.
I used to leave in a mason jar and let evaporate with cheesecloth over it down to about 30% of original amount but then a lot of the yummy stickiness is on the sides of the mason jar and impossible to get out, So I just finished one where I decided to let it evaporate in a non stick pan overnight covered with cheesecloth and a fan blowing on it and woke up to a solid gummy mess and no liquid (viola! RSO). Biut I had a heck of a time getting it out of the pan (had to spritz it with ever clear, scrape into a small area and re-evaporate it.
Now thanks to @Ladithief and blackthumbbetty, I will evaporate it in a silicone baking dish.
I have made dummies with a concentrated tincture and they turned out great! Can’t wait to try with the RSO so there will be no alcohol taste/bite

190 proof is what I use too. The higher the proof stuff strips more and evaporates easier. When I reduce I measure out 1 cup and put in a non stick pan then when I get it to a RSO I just add the gummy mix I make straight into the same pan and reheat and mix. Them fill your molds from there. Dont have to worry about trying to get all that goo out then and loosing a bunch.

I use the 190 proof everclear as well. I decarb by boiling the weed and alcohol (mason jar sitting in a pot of boiling water - be very careful if you try this, alcohol fumes can be flammable and explosive) for about 20 minutes, then filter out the weed using a coffee filter than take the liquid and put back on the double boiler to evaporate off more alcohol to really concentrate it. A few droppers of my tincture and you’ll on laying on the floor with your dog LOL wondering if your legs are gonna work. Strongest THC buzz I’ve had were from my tincture.
