Question from a fellow grower:
Is it true that you want to blow a fan on plants when they are young? I believe a fan is needed for air circulation, but is it needed for strengthening? There’s a lot of talk about it, but I do believe that too much direct strong fanning can increase plant stress levels which could cause death, etc.
I also think or read that fans are necessary for circulation for the sake of also moving any humidity out of a grow area because Cannabis plants might be too prone to mold caused by too much humidity.

I’ve found that with the fan blowing on the plants when they are young helps strengthen the stems as they grow giving you a sturdy base for the plant and help air circulate

I tend to use my breath as wind when they are very young, they like it and I like it 
…think of what happens in nature, wind moves around at different speeds from different directions…
Hi James, I’m a first grow here. I bought a fan for my grow room that does exactly what you think the plants need. During the fan cycle it imitates the natural way the wind moves outside. It oscillates 90 degrees, has 3 speeds and adjustable Tilt. It is a 12" wall mount hurricane fan. As it is oscillating on the low speed, the fan speed slow and rises. It is a pretty cool fan. Bought it at Amazon for $33.95. I have 2 smaller oscillating fans with multiple speeds and they go up and down. They are 10 inch. I am thinking that the one on the wall might be the only one I need for my 8x5+ grow room. @ILGM.Sharon

it sounds like you understand the wind situation…the 10’’ fans sound good as you always have the 3 speed Fan when you grow a jungle…I always give them an up-draft to shake em up every now and then…i grow naturally in a big greenhouse and bugs tend to live underneath the leaves, so updrafting reduces the hospitable environment the underside of leaves afford. best of luck with your gals…this forum is the one…
get as many grow books as u can find, read them all,
watch a ton of u-tube videos, then re-read all your grow books.!!
this sucks, but the best way to start a new venture is to learn all u can before starting.!!
u will find that all grow book authors have different styles,
the core growing techniques r the same tho,
