Hey y’all, on my first grow on the Mary Jane and now I’m diving into the Psilcybes, ordered 2 syringes from spores101 and they sent me 3 which makes me happy…super clear though, a buddy of mine gave mr a syringe he made for me and it was so purple you could see clumps of spores in there…these syringes you can see spores but gee wiz I hope I can get some results
Start with a liquid culture, you don’t need many spores to get one going. The grain spawn will colonize a lot faster too.

I used Shaman last time, only doing the PE and it’s still in the eye jar but coming along nicely!
The spores are in there just shake them really, really well before inoculation!
My home made syringes are dark as well.

Take your spore syringe and inoculate the rye grain jars. When you get mushrooms growing, you can cut a couple before the veil breaks and make a spore print then syringes or liquid culture.
First time I would just stick to growing what you have. I also have a journal here
Too much substrate. I should have used 3 jars of spawned popcorn instead of 2.
It’s been a little bit since I gave an update on my jars and bags. Not any good news unfortunately! The two bags that were ready had mold on top I couldn’t see. Four jars are still just corn with no growth. Figuring they are garbage at this point. I do have 5 more rice bags knocked up and hope the results are better.
Ug… Sorry to hear that. Keep at it, it will get better…! Here’s hoping for the best with the 5 that are going. 
hmmm… the mycelium looks plentiful though. I wonder if it could be something else. I just did a 1 quart jar of ry to my monotub with about 5 pounds of substrate and I’m getting plenty. Your fruiting bodies look great, nice and fat. Maybe there still some pins forming?
Don’t give up on the jars yet. I had one I thought was a goner and literally 2 months later, I found it and it was full of mycelium!
I’ll get a few shrooms a day off it for a few days. Will then soak the cake and see how it goes.
I have some jars colonizing. I’ll get it right for this next time.
Yeah, it takes a couple of times to get the hang of it.
I’ve also seen people have success with stubborn tubs with “fork tek”… Basically sterilize a fork and scrape up the surface a bit & keep in fruiting conditions.
interesting… I’ve not heard of that. May be something to try!
Haven’t had the need to try it myself yet but I’ve seen some have success when the surface almost seems overtaken by myc like that one.
I’m through 2 flushes on my most recent 6qt tub from the microwave rice bags at the moment. Soaked again a few nights ago to see if we can go for 3!
