That could have been the case as well. I left them for over a month and didn’t see anything but white. The first two were probably premature.
you might be able to find a used presure cooker cheep on Facebook marketplace or Craigslist. a presure canner would be better in the long run but you could make a lc and do some smaller jars with the cooker. I picked up the pressure cooker I use to make my lc for 5$ from marketplace
What I’ll do is make a few cakes and also try a few bags and see how they do. I have a bunch or brown rice flower that I would like to use. Not sure if that can be mixed into coco or another sub straight.
Some of the old stovetop PCs can be found for really cheap.
I’ll check out the pressure canners and cookers. The canner is done on the stovetop? And the cooker is its own heat source?
Most people think of InstaPots when the think of PCs. I’m talking the old school (circa 1970s) aluminum PCs that do not have their own power and must be put on a burner on the stove.
I prefer the old stove top verity, I had a instapot and threw it in the trash lol
I have a 6 qt instapot and love it. It fits 4 medium jars perfectly.
thats probably the same one I had. i have a old magic seal pressure canner I use now. I guess I am just old fashioned
You know it!!
Question is that substrate reusable if it was sterilized again?
I doubt it. Micellum gets pretty nasty after it has sat for a while. The substrate also needs a food source (like manure or grain) which should be expended after it is done colonizing and fruiting. I’ve never heard of anyone reusing substrate.
Me either
How much are they getting for one of those bags anyway?
About $25. They are far less expensive than the resellers on Amazon. Buy them direectly from North Spore.
I have never used boomer bags for a comparison but I had very good results from mycohaus compost at half the price
Mycohaus = $22 (10 lbs), Boomr Bags (5 lbs) are $25. The mycohaus looks like a good product too.
That weighed out at 10.6 grams dry not too shabby
