Finally able to harvest something other than the blobs? I do miss those blobs! Like everyone here has told me they are strong as fu:k and a really good time too maybe out of my next 4 tubs of PE 1 might turn out to be a beautiful blob flush. Looking forward to the labor day weekend have a bunch set aside for all the family to enjoy.

Whelp… Placed an order for 2 syringes of B+, so this is happening one way or another. Still debating on the best / easiest path for the first run…
Really considering giving the PF Tek approach with vermiculite and brown rice flour and just fruiting some cakes directly to start. I know yield won’t be what it could be, but it also seems the simplest approach and the initial goal is microdosing anyway.
I skipped that tek all together and went right for shoe box tubs and I’m just starting out with this hobby as well man. I ran b+ and PE on my first go round and if you can keep sterile practice you’ll be better off in the long run as far as yield. Give it a try why not right.
Yeah, I’m debating everything right now… At least the order is placed which will put me in a position to make some decisions…
Fair amount of places seem to be sold out of ready made sterile grain bags / jars right now.
I’ve also been debating just breaking down and ordering the parts to basically make the Gorilla FAME kit since its all just simple / readily available components (inkbird controller, seedling mat, reptile humidifier, etc.).
Really trying to find the most reliable (for a first timer) method to get somewhere between 3-8 grams dried.
First timer here as well but I’ve had some good luck with the shoe box tubs. What grain are you going to use? I’ve been having good luck with wild bird seed and popcorn. A pressure cooker is a really good investment if you don’t already have one. Sterility is everything for sure
I’ve found that the dub tub 15qt. shoebox containers are the simplest thing going no need for fans foggers and all the other amenities that really go with a mono tub. If you can dial in your field capacity of the substrate then it pretty much does it all by itself. Once you put your spawn to the substrate let it colonize for 10 to 14 days then put it in fruiting conditions which is basically introducing fresh air and then you should be good in another 10 to 14 days. I bought all the goodies to make the same automated mono tub and still have to put it all together it’s an expensive hobby no doubt if you start small and have success it’s way easier to work up from there I’ve found anyway and I’m no expert by no means. I’ve learned a lot on this thread from some great people and they’re more than willing to help.
On another note it’s going to happen contamination is something we all have to deal with being as sterile as you can possibly be will help you get to your goal. You can never be to sterile!!!
The first picture is a tub of b+ I started fruiting on 7-27 the second one was put to fruiting on 8-31 and that is a PE strain that was spawned in popcorn
Has anyone experimented with the inoculating Uncle Ben’s microwave brown rice bag thing….? Intriguing.
I tried a couple bags 2 days ago with some liquid culture I made up of b+ just out of curiosity to see how it would go. I’ll check back in with some pictures when they start colonizing. From what I understand is that you only need one and half cc’s so as not to over saturate the rice
Yeah, I’ve seen similar, very small “dose” to get things started. I may give this a run for grins as well later this week. I’ve read closer to 1cc, and even less if the rice already appears pretty moist through the viewing window.
Using liquid culture opposed to a spore syringe will definitely get it going quicker. I also put a syringe hole at the top covered with micro pore tape for gas exchange. So time will tell I’m thinking about trying to fruit it right out of the bag like I’ve seen done on 90 seconds you tube channel he’s all about the uncle Ben Tek
Yeah, I’ve seen those and have done some reading on Reddit around it as well.
I “may” try to fruit right in one bag just because of timelines to see if I can get even a small yield that way. Won’t be able to give it a true go until next month otherwise due to some time away around when they’d need to go into fruiting from bulk otherwise.

I’ve been running ragged with school and work not growing any psylicybin at the moment just lions mane and pink oysters they’re really cool to watch grow and o wrote my first essay on mycology I’ll post it when it’s done hopefully tonight I’ll finish it up.
