Psilocybin Adventures

This game is all about patience set it and forget it until it’s time to fruit

Glad to see you back!! I’m having the worst time fruiting my tubs and I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong. Misting, fanning, my humidity is around 85%in my makeshift closet but I’m not having any decent flushes. I have 8 shoebox tubs rocking right now. My first pe tub that I posted the picture of is doing I don’t know what??

Those are just mutations they’re blobs stronger as a blob anyways I’d be glad to get a flush of blobs.

Me my girl and her nephew tripped our socks off last week and it was amazing such a good time!!!

I’m not sure what to do with the tub since it’s not really producing a legit flush that I can see anyway

Well, this was one heck of a thread to read through…!

Few questions for the gang if I could…

First off, seems like some were using but have since gravitated away from the Spore Store but that said, is there any reason not to go with something like the pre-made mycelium jars that they sell, beyond understanding that yield from these will be low? Looking for an easy way to get my feet wet and would likely either buy or build something like the gorilla set-ups as a next step.

I personally love a good medium-ish dose ride, but the primary goal here is to get enough for the wife to try microdosing. If I get can grow enough for her to give a few microdoses a try and get one mild trip for myself I’d be happy then expand the approach from there.

I was considering just running a 3-4 of those jars in hopes that at least 2 would fruit, then moving up in the world from there either going with bags (likely from North Spore but they seem to be out again presently) or trying my hand at the popcorn method.

Also, completely out of curiosity, has anyone tried products like star-san for sanitizing? Lived and died by that stuff sterilizing for home brewing / wine making…

Sorry for all of the questions, but I think I’m about ready to join the party here…

Am I seeing contamination here? They look like rust spots but there wasn’t any exposed metal edges. Also im sure it will be said but im pretty sure I wasn’t supposed to RTV both sides now that im looking at it

@Hellraiser did you end up jumping back in or looking any closer at the Gorilla kits?

I am not very knowledgeable about this yet but i did buy my spore syringes (13 different strains) from the spore store …i will say their freebies are virtually worthless besides the spore syring samples hopefully so really hoping their spore syringes aren’t. I bought my “premium 5 grain spawn bags” (they claim aren’t available anywhere else), bulk casing and some humidity domes from midwest grow kits…i am 4 days in from jabbing 2 spawn bags and think i barely see the start of something (the white milky looking substance).

Jar looks a lil wet.

See I thought the same thing and was worried that might be playing an role in the issue. But I am seeing some growth in every jar. 2 have the rust spot on the bottom side of the lid and 1 has the red black specs on the bottom

I wouldn’t worry about the rust on the lid. That liquid at the bottom of the jar will likely result in bacterial contam. Did you make the spawn yourself?

Lol yeah 1st timer here. Live and learn. I’ll ignore it for a week or 2 and come back with updated pics to make sure it won’t turn into a contamination issue but if it does im ready to whip up another batch. Failure won’t get the best of me!

THIS!

I’ve not any experience with popcorn, is wild birdseed more expensive? Either way making grains can be difficult. Its super important to get the moisture just right. Its also important not to over inoculate. There be water in them thar spore syringe!

A good tip- when soaking your grains avoid the cooking them method. Its super difficult to not overcook them and once the grain is exploded it leaves a mess. I always soaked for 24 hours. I would use hot water and rinse and resoak every 3 hours for the first 12 hours then do cold water for the remaining 12 hours. (Its ok not to change water while you sleep) in the first 12 hours add a tsp of gypsum to each water exchange. This will add a lil something something to your grains and also help in the drying process.

Drying- i liked to use a window screen propped between two sawhorses. It allows for air movement under and around the grain. You will want to move them around every ten mins and until dry.
Dry is a relative term when doing grain. You want them dry to the touch but moist inside. Test by using double ply toilet paper. Grab a few grains and put them onto a square of tp. Wait 30 seconds. If the square is unmoistened by the grains. Your set to jar and pressure cook.

Love the rtv silicone gas filter and inoculation port.

Never used spore store before. Only used one vendor. Ralphsters spores. The guy isn’t very nice and he didn’t take cards back in the day, might now, dunno. Anywho I sent cash and he sent spore. Even did a trade for silver containing dimes once. Google Ralphsters spores. R44 is a personal fave.

I might if these don’t do anything but I have 2 of each of 13 different strains so I have plenty for now…if they work

See I didn’t rinse to stop the cooking process and then high as kite decided they weren’t to field capacity and kept grabbing them and squeezing them to check it and burning my hands lol. Then I didn’t let them dry before putting in the jars. These are things I will make note of and add to my word document for future reference. The filter and plug came off a smaller set of lids I ordered that were regular mouth and I needed wide mouth so I made the best of my situation and took them out and put them in the bigger lids

Thats perfect! Exactly what I did. I got self healing injection ports from an ER visit. You can order more online for future jars. You can also use two pieces of micropore tape in a pinch.

Try soaking no boiling. You won’t burn your hand and you won’t pop your grains. Don’t worry about field capacity for your grain. They aren’t ment as a water source only nutrition source, so dryer is better.
Field capacity is for substrate, you want just dryer then that with grain.
You might give WBS a try also, its convenient because it requires a 24 hr soak before it can be cooked anyhow. Happy farming!

So I’m about a week past jabbing those spawn bags…I thought they looked like they were doing something early on but nothing really noticeable changing… Are they supposed to be kept warm or cool for this part?

Nvm just read this… The goal is to Provide a channel or path from the grain to the filter. ⇒ Place your spawn bags in a warm, dark location (74-77 degrees optimally) and leave to incubate. Unlike jars, Spawn bags colonize from the inside out so you will most likely won’t see any mycelium growth for 7-14 days
