Pruning with Manifolding

I’m in my 5th week of VEG on 2 Purple Haze Fem plants. This grow I’m trying Nebula Haze’s Manifolding technique where each plant will have 8 main colas. Attached is a picture of one of the plants. As you can see I’ve begun LST to arrange the colas and prevent crowding.

My questions have to do with pinching/pruning,

  1. Should I remove the growths coming out of each node? I’ve circled in red the growth tips I’m asking about. I think these produce a lot of larfy buds and in my thinking their removal will allow the plant to put it’s energy into the main colas and eventual buds.
  2. What about the large fan leaves? Are they important to retain, or can they be pruned to allow more light and air flow thru the plant? Currently I’m trying to tuck them behind other leaves to allow light to hit the growth tips.

Thanks

An area I don’t know much about, but let me tag a couple that might.

For a “true” Nebula mainlining, remove those nodes and you can keep the fan leaves :leaf_fluttering_in_wind:

@MeEasy has done a ton of those, maybe he can advise.

I don’t do the Nebula version. I use 4 node s and topping to get 8 mains, one from each branch. Nebula ran a mainline of two branches, then topped those twice for eight mains from 2 branches. No right or wrong way, just some work better for certain growers. I also put them in tomato cages once they get spread out and tied down, the cages support the branches and help keep from breaking, plus it reduces the footprint so I can run more on same space.:oncoming_fist::+1:

Thanks for the tag @kaptain3d Hello @CaptainTrips I do most of my manifolds like Nebula but I like to play around with different configurations of it. With all of them I try to leave as many leaves as I can until the branches I get closer to the switch to 12s. With some strains the branches start growing too much and I’ll take em off , or I’ll let a couple of em grow up adding more tops

It’s like most things with growing, it’s a combination of what you want to do and what the plant wants to do

If you want to check out a couple years worth of my crazy manifold training click on my Homer and then again on my featured topic and you will be magically teleported over to my house  Happy Growing Sir

Thanks kaptain! I’m going to try that with this grow.

Thanks! Enjoyed reading your Manifolding topic. And I’ve seen a video about “chiropractic” adjustments which I might try during this grow.
