Pruning prior to flowering

I’m new to this and have a attached a couple questions. Think were ready to start flowering in 10 - 14 days and saw where the top bud should be pruned 2 weeks prior to beginning flowering stage. Can anyone confirm?

I’m not sure how much of top bud to trim off? Thanks

I think you are referring to what is commonly known as “topping”.
