Many add perlite to get it toward light and airy. It is not. It is very compressible and compaction can be an issue.
A ml or 2 of water every day or 2 will be fine, but let it dry out first. Cannabis prefers wet and dry cycles.
One more question. Does a seedling need high humidity? I know you said to use a dome in place of watering, but if the soil is already wet do I need to keep the humidity up? It is currently at 55%.
55% is okay. A little higher is better, and maintaining high humidity is the purpose of a dome. A tap root isn’t very efficient at absorbing water and many prefer to use a dome to allow the plant to absorb moisture through the leaves and then not water the soil at all.
for a seedling it does not need much, it needs the extra stuff when its bigger. Just let it get a little root establishment and then follow the advice of giving the little one more time before moving it…it just got started you don’t want to interrupt in the beginning, those seedling roots are like little hairs…move the soil and they all rip out.
Plants need the nutrients that are broken down and readily available in the soil that they are growing in (the soil life provides this). They use water via transpiration so the water carries the nutrients to where they need to go… so while high humidity may humidify the plant and keep it moist per say, the nutrients uptake (via transpiration) will be inhibited by the high humidity that is “watering” from the air.
