Did I do something wrong?

Hello fellow growers,

I recently found a seed in some legal weed I bought. Figured I’d give it a shot since the strain was a nice smoke. So I germinated the seed and once it popped I quickly moved along grabbing normal potting soil to plant it in.

I grabbed a two solo cups, one cup I removed the bottom, and placed it inside the other cup filled it with some generic potting soil my grandmother told me was good for the first part.

She sprouted quickly had the seed hanging onto one of her little leaves and it fell off on the third day of spraying the leaves with water. It was getting tall when I had it in the window stretching for the light while being so young. So I moved her into my tent and set up a fan and the light(16-8hr) it seemed to be going good, grew some more leaves wasn’t growing taller and stretching for the light.

However this morning I opened my tent to see if she needed anything and the humidity was at 58% fan going still wet soil but she was leaning really bad. I just put a chop stick in now and propped her up before committing to tying anything while she’s so young.

Any ideas of what’s happening? Should I transplant her now? Am I over watering? Is my light good enough?

Some kind of help would be greatly appreciated, sorry for the novel just wanted to explain everything. Included are pictures of her outside of the tent and currently inside tent.

Quite possibly. It looks kinda over wet. That soil probably needs some perlite added.

I think I would. When you do, bury it up to just below the first set of leaves.
First mix some perlite into the soil you will use and pre-moisten before you plant then wait for it to get dry before you water again.
Best method I have found is to fill your planter and then lift it before wetting to get a feel for “dry weight”. Now remember what that is like and only water when “light”. :white_check_mark:

Too much water

Bury that sucker most of the way up into moist soil, and don’t water again until it’s bone dry. It’ll be fine.

Noted. Thank you very much, will post an update.

What was the other cup for? Wondering for a friend.

Okay so I transplanted it on Sunday. Moistened the soil and then let it dry. She perked right back up I just gave her some more water and I’ll check again tomorrow night after work.

I grabbed a local soil, the guy that owned the greenhouse said he uses it start to finish and has everything it needs in it to grow. Also if I want I can get these two recharge packs he sells and next season I can reuse the soil.

She’s in a 7 Gal fabric pot, going to buy a stand for her tomorrow for the run off water if I ever over water her again.

The double cup thing is something I saw somewhere just for easy transplanting. Personal preference I guess.

Now we play the waiting game!

Awesome! Just a tip though. Dont get your leaves wet. The droplets act likeca magnifying glass and might possibly burn your leaves.

Agreed. You should only mist your leaves and should always try to do so before your lights come on. Like @ChittyChittyBangin mentioned it will cause burns under lights and invites powdery mildew to the party

Just noticed I have some yellow tips on some of my newer leaves coming in. The newer ones look a little worse then the other yellow tipped ones.

Rest of the plant looks healthy, the guy I bought the soil from is the owner of a local green house said it has all the nutrients it needs from start to finish.

What can I do to reverse this?

What soil are you using and do you have ppm and pH testers?

Dont worry yet on reversing anything. She looks healthy. Soldier on.

Thank you!! First time going at it solo, the top leaves are starting to worry me a bit with the discoloured tips.

My friend told me to trim it a bit but I am very nervous on doing this. He also said I could top it if I wanted to, to make it mutate into two big colas. Still on the fence with this since I don’t wanna ruin my plant or put too much stress on her.

Just thinking of letting it do it’s thing until flowering time, but maybe I’ll take a couple of the very bottom leaves off. What do you think?
