Old time method

I normally start seedlings in a small container and when transplanting I bury the stem deep up to the top leaves. The new container is not it’s final one until the plant is robust.
Is this method considered okay? Or am I wasting time?

You don’t want the leaves to contact the soil. Burying the stem is ok, but I’d stop 3/4"-1" from the leaves.

I agree, burying stem is fine but leave a little gap to leaves. If you’re having issues with stretchy seedlings you can usually increase intensity or go to more blue light spectrum to help that.

i agree with these guys,
also, i think that transplanting is good,
my plants always seem to do better starting small and potting up.!

if i m reading your post correctly…
trimming all lower growth and transplanting ‘up to’ the tops is a waste of time,
if u r putting them in the ground mid-late spring this would be fine and beneficial,
indoors tho, it is okay but not helpful and inefficient.!
