Quick check in. She’s plugging along and I’m doing my best not to kill her with too much
It’s the 4th or 5th day from germination. Got the humidifier pumping now but my Vivosun fan sopped oscillating and cheap Amazon timer crapped out so had to replace those ugh! The light has variable spectrum so we’ll see if my current blue heavy setting keeps her tight and stocky (39R49W99B)! Happy Tuesday all!
Quick update. She seems to be happy enough and getting out of that very fragile seedling stage. She’s at 7-8 days from sprouting. Waiting on my fan (still) and upgraded heater which should help bump up nighttime temps a bit. I’m about to bump up the red spectrum a bit and the PPFD a smidge in a day or so when I feel the roots have reached the “real soil” not just the mild organic soil she was germinated into. Happy Friday all!
She’s right at 10 days from sprouting germinated directly in the final pot) and so far so good. The red was bumped up two days ago to a relative light spectrum intensity of (49R49W99B) and PPFD of 501. She seems happy enough. I can’t wait until she grows a bit more so the plant training can begin. Hope everyone’s Monday was bearable.
Goodmorning friend. @Cannanaut
I stopped in to see how your garden is going.
I see theybare popping right along. They look good. Bout to blow up!. Yes they are!
I harvest my grimm girls. I am planting new seeds today. Kooliad Breath. So i will not be far behind ya.
Tag me if ya update, i would love to keep up.
Have a good day friend
Good morning @kw_Bat ! Congrats on the harvest
You’ll have to let me know how your harvest taste tested. Thanks for watching and I’ll tag you at the next update. If she keeps plugging along, hopefully that may be the start of training. I hope the rest of your day is a good one friend!
Do you have any particular idea in mind for this grow session? Training the plant in any particular way?
I’m going to quadline her at minimum but I’m still considering doing a manifold also. I’ve never had a problem topping a plant but during my first grow the supposed lst part of the quadline turned out to be hst and I almost lost a branch
. I suppose I should do the quadline along with the associated lst to learn it correctly ![]()
Because of space issues this run i am gonna need to manage big time. These girls might come out lookin like an aliens, gonna cut the heck out of them. Im gonna watch how it goes with ya friend.
Please tag me in when you start your next round. Thanks for watching and hopefully my grow keeps moving along nicely.
You bet , talk at ya later. Off to work
@Cannanaut. Goodmorning friend. I hope your grow day is going well. Hows the plants coming along?
Good morning @kw_Bat ,
My grow day is good, I looked in the tent and it looks like take off time is starting! 'm going to do the work thing mow but I am going to to a quick update this evening. I feel she’s big enough to start full watering. I hope your day is a good one friend and thanks for checking in!
I knew it was time.to blow up. I thought to myself, its been 4 or so days since i sen them, i bet they doubled.
Tag me later. ![]()
So quick update. Here’s the current status at 14 days from sprouting. The internodes seem to be right on top of each other so maybe there is something to a heavy blue light spectrum at this stage
Well, she seems happy enough. I hope everyone is winding down and enjoying a bit of the Devil’s parsley!
Looking fantastic brother
I use blue spectrum boards at veg ![]()
Hope you are having a great rest of your week my friend
Thank you @Dennis62 ! Did you find your blue spectrum boards kept your beauties nice and compact? Your grows are always on point. Have a good rest of your week also my friend!
I’m a fan using two spectrums, blue is better in my opinion during veg, I’m doing experiments with full spectrum boards, but haven’t had enough grows to come to any conclusions. But I work with low wattage lights and keeping the lights closer to the plant in my case keeps the node spacing tight.
I like to mimic nature in my closet been using two spectrums since I gave up burple lights in 2018 when I joined this forum, found a home with HLG lightning, boy the old burple lights had tons of blue and were great to veg, but HLG had 4000k veg boards and 3000k flowering, just recently I bought Rspec full spectrum 3500k, because hlg stopped making the 3000k’s
Sorry I smoked some GMO cookies and I’m babbling lol ![]()
I’m about to take a nice rip so I’ll join you. Thanks for the info. My light for my first grow was full spectrum and different genetics this time but I still feel the heavy blue is good for this stage, especially in my small tent. Carry on and enjoy that GMO!
Quick status check 17 days from sprouting. The PPFD at the canopy top is ~520 and she seems happy enough. Always a nervous time but tomorrow I’m playing Edward Scissor Hands and starting a quadline provided I can get a clean cut above the 4th node. Have a good rest of the disappearing weekend all!
There is no risk of hurting your seedling with water on it. Damping off is generally caused by oversaturated soil. Wet feet so to speak. To avoid wet feet and to encourage root development, many growers water away from the seedling, thus they reduce the risk of oversaturation at the seedling.
On a side note, if you are doing no till, as I will soon be, the ideal situation is to prevent soil from drying out because it can kill beneficial bacteria and other organisms that require moisture. So the trick will be to ensure the watering near the plant is deep enough while not oversaturating… aaand keeping the soil surface from drying out too badly. I know that cover crops and mulching really do help with this. Meanwhile we need to keep up with the maintenance! Do you have a soil mousture meter?
