Possible Overwatering/Little Bit Of Too Much Love

careful what you ask for …Something has arisen …The new leaves seem to be turning quite a bit light green.I have a cheap $15 dollar Ph,Light, and moisture meter. It reads my tap water at above seven as is my HFrog soil. Not sure if it’s accurate though. I guess I need a real Ph meter huh?

Yeah I tried to edit, but couldn’t figure it out. By the time I did it said time had expired.
I guess the meeting came through LOL. I’ve been growing photo Outdoors for decades. So Auto is newis new, and so is the grow box. In the past I’ve always used butter tubs with lots of holes. Or just put the seeds in the ground when we were doing large quantities. I’m actually regretting not planting mine in a 3-gallon to start with. But then I’ve never used an fabric grow bags either. I’m hoping what I ordered comes in time if not I have some extra felt I’ll wrap around a 3 or 4 gallon container with holes. That’s only because of possible transplant shock possibly shutting down vegetation for short time. I didn’t give it a thought.
Curious are you in a fabric pot for plastic?

Plastic I’ve heard that the fabric /cloth pots are a one use item due to the roots tend to grow into the fabric. However, I’m also reconsidering that aspect as I see the sensitivity to over watering /lack of air for these “fast flowering” auto’s

You’re post was really funny but informative.
I seen you shut down the conversation yesterday which was fine by me. All you did was try to Defuse The Situation. And in return you were criticized as well. The heart was accidental. I have fat arthritic fingers and a feeble mind at times. I didn’t notice till this morning that I dropped the heart on the wrong individual. I was just hearting heart from the mailbox. I was just also trying to neutrally diffuse the situation. Bottom line I hope you’re not upset with me.
I thought you were Class Act in the way you handled it myself.:v:

Im on grow 4 with my current pots. They look a bit used, but work like a champ.

Yes the pH meter maybe the root of the issues. Thats the one u cant really cheap out on as its a pretty sensitive measurement.
This is my goto recommendation (also what I use myself) for a cheap enough pH pen.

Haha thanks man! Its hard to gauge intentions over texts. Even harder over the internet… and Im naturally slightly confrontational… so it takes a couple of rewrites before I push send. But I appreciate you noticing the effort .

And no worries on the fat fingers. Click around here a while and ull see a few words misspelled so often, ud think I cant spell! But usually its me typing too quickly and fat fingering the letter beside my intended. R and T get switched up ALL the time.

Yeah I’ve heard that also. I only ordered six. Something like $2 a bag off eBay. for me personally I can eat that cost. Don’t know? It’s a new experience. Which is odd, because I’ve been a Rancher and a farmer all of my life. But then except for the greenhouse I’ve never grown anything indoors.
And I have people dropping by to buy honey and produce all the time. I have to be careful what I have where I have.lol

TY for the link , now can you use that for soil testing also? And…What type of bags do you have .

Thanks for that. And the tip on the pH meter as well. I’m so old school I generally don’t check anything other than visually after Decades of looking at various species of plants, you can kind of just tell what you’re looking at and what they’re asking for. But with this Auto and it’s short time frame. I’m guessing there’s no time to play catch-up you have to stay ahead of the game.
So it looks like today my GG seedling is moving on as it’s getting its first five finger fan leaves. Now how long is the average for Gorilla Glue Auto to be in a vegetative state before flowering? 3 or 4 more weeks? It’s been a Seedling for 11 days.

Absolutely! Thats why I stopped growing autos haha. Too absentminded to be on a timelimit. 3-4 weeks give or take a week in either direction. They really do as they please. Best to maximize every moment in veg.

ok I’ll prob go fabric then.Next time .Now back to Ph pen…Can you and how to check soil ph?

O snap. My bad. You check the runoff solution. Catch whatever drains when watering and test that.

Soil probes are too unreliable

OK ,Good info man TY. I Can’t water till runoff at two real leaf stage can I? I thought I saw Mr.Kanucks Grow on you tube using the “blue pen” to check soil…maybe I saw it different. You know that fancy “Blue pen” thing , and if it also measures soil Ph?

@lovenature I have the fancy green pen and do a soil slurry (method available on the googly) for new batches of soil so I know what I am up against.
