Been thinking of that or some sortof silicon rubber.
I really hope these do the trick. Of all things that have been improved in growing tech, you’d think someone could build a reliable fan. I hope this is the one.
Same here! For sure they cant suck any worse than the Secret Jardin - at least in my reviews. I’m pretty sure my exhaust fan is Vivosun, and it has been perfect for the long haul. Knock on wood.
@SilentHippie exactly!
I am getting a shit ton of those fans! lol
@Bogleg amazon has one of yhe better proces on them and they are thru prime.
Just got the following today, 2 for $70 (seller accepted my offer), only one fits in my grow tent and I can’t use the oscillate function.
I using my fan now and really like it so far. The clip design is working well for my tent which is a 2x2 with small diameter frame poles. I have a new tent (not put up yet) that is larger with larger poles and the fan fits that size equally well.
Feedback this vivo fan isnt oscillating anymore.
How long did it last?
When I was putting my Vivosun fan in the tent, it was running and I was adjusting the position. I stopped the oscillation briefly by accident, and heard the internal gear clicking. It continues to oscillate just fine, but I could tell the oscillation gear was a very thin nylon type material which is bound to be a weak link. Hopefully the fan will continue to operate even though the oscillation feature is toasted.
Are you going to return the fan?
I guess @MT3 im gonna end up fabricating a mount and using a different oscillator. Its definetly the little gear inside you can hear it click. Its shocking to me nobody has invented a bulletproof oscillating fan. Might cost a tad more but people would pay it if it lasts. I think it stripped out from slightly rubbing the tent on the fartheat points. It would move again if I moved it but would then quikly stop.
With all the cannabis growing craze going on now, I’m also surprised a company hasn’t stepped up to the plate to offer a better option. Most other tent items are decent quality except the fans.
The fan has healed itself it seems has been oscillating for a few days now.lol
@DankGunslinger and now it’s dead right?
I just had my fan drop and kill half of my two plants thus 1/4 of my crop…
So I’m thinking about the 2" board idea or if I can find a good chunk of rubber but as it stands the poles are round and the clip fan is flat topped off by the poles are thin. I think I will be tieing a safety line to the fans now just Incase the clip does come loose.
I have been considering hiring someone to replace the failing oscillating parts in the Vivo oscillating clip-ons. They are a great idea, just poorly excuted IMHO.
- The arm holding the actual fan needs to be a little longer, so it sits further away from the corner of the tent (and if it were an adjustable arm that would be awesome)
- The gearing that makes it move has no durability whatsoever
