Please tell me Im just being paranoid..
I cracked the zip open an inch to have a little sneaky look just before lights on in my photo tent which houses 6 plants in net pots in the same reservoir.. it was pretty dull, but Im pretty sure I could see a faint reflection of light on the opposite wall, from the vent at the bottomtl that I may not have covered 100% this morning..
Its still not too long after the flip to 12/12, but having a look with the zoom on my phone I spot this.
I’ll have to expel him from the group if hes just gonna be standing around with his balls hanging out.
If its just one, or maybe two out of the six, thats ok, I can handle that. But if they all end up being boys because I beefed it and allowed a tiny light leak.. I’m going to lose my shit.
They’ll all have to go and I would have wasted all that time, money and energy
I dunno man, my mate gave me these seeds well over a year ago.
I had 3 growing in RDWC looking real nice and getting pretty big. But the the small er of the 3 hermied, and shortly after, the other 2 followed suit.. I was devastated.
Luckily I accidentally germinated too many, trying to fill the 4th spot with a late entrance, and had thrown together this DWC system in the tent next door with my Auto.
I dont know if I’ll even have the time to take them all the way, I think Im moving house in November.. it will be cutting it so fine.
But its been such a shit show, and I’ve done so much to make this happen at all, it would kill me to not have a single one of these photos make it.
At least the Auto, aside from being a bit stunted, has been relatively drama free and I’m confident I’ll take her all the way. (Assuming the real estate agent keeps her nose out of the shed at our next house inspection)
In the second pic I see distinct female pisitls but below and to the left I also see a “ball” looking item. Also see some white specs on leaves. Probably just dust but I would check for varmints. The first one I also can see indicators of both. Keep a good eye on them next few days. They will form bracts there that can have a male appearance early on.
Close the leak and monitor for hermie evidence is the best you can do. I doubt a minor leak is going to make a difference. Moonlight doesn’t affect outdoor plants. A minor leak with less PPFD isn’t going to make a difference. I could be wrong, but I’ve seen plenty of plants that have done fine in similar conditions in the nearly 6 years of watching grows here on ILGM.
I believe Dr. Bruce said if you can’t read a book at normal distance then it’s not enough light to hurt anything
Which to me seems like a lot of light
I’m not doing to push that parameter
If it continual it can I had a zkittlez herm on me because I had a tiny little light keak in the top where they put the vent for the air hose I had it drawn shut with both draw strings but apparently light was still getting through I didn’t realize till well after it was too late I literally couldn’t draw it any tighter or close it any more so now I keep an old black t-shirt folded up and placed on top haven’t had a plany herm since then granted that was the only one I had herm but im sure it was the tiny little almost inpercevible little light leak
Usually males pop first. Hermies can switch at anytime, so the thing I look for if there are balls is if there is a pistil in it. If so it’s fine. If not, gently separate the plant from the others for a couple days and see if more show up,
It looks like you’re just seeing normal pistils to me. It’s totally normal to worry as a new grower, but you’re doing fine! Keep calm and let them do their thing.
