Plastic Containers

When choosing airtight plastic containers for curing, is smaller better? I would use mason jars, but I’m expecting a harvest of a couple of pounds. I don’t want to spend hours burping.

There’s people I’ve seen that uses plastic totes, but I agree with @Tophat check out Grove Bags. You can get them in one lbs sizes and larger, probably less expensive than a couple of plastic totes. If you are not familiar with them check out this link. :+1:

You can get 1/2 gallon mason jars. I use them as well as quart, pint, 1/2 pint and 1/4 pint mason jars.

5 gallon bucket with lid. Line it with an unscented garbage bag, I think mine are 13 gallon. Once lid is on its airtight. You can also get 1 gallon glass jars at China mart with removable or spring locking lid.

I like using 5 gal food grade buckets with screw on gasketed lids. I burp them the same and it lets me be lazy with trimming lol. I transfer into very large mason type jars after the buds are cleaned up to finish out the curing.

1/4 grove bags in a 5 gallon bucket with gamma seal lid.
Grove bags also sell some bucket liners. Not sure what size though

Thanks for the tip, Tophat. I found one pound bags on Amazon for 11.99 each. That looks like a bargain. I’m growing Do Si Dos. That strain has a reputation for producing a good yield. I’m hoping for a couple of pounds at least. It’s been 38 years since I grew cannabis. I realize methods have changed drastically. It’s not like the good old days when we picked seeds out of a stash and chucked them in the ground. lol

I hear ya, I just finished my first grow in probably 25 years. I got 6oz out of a 2x2x5 tent. I put them in the grove bags and I just opened one and it smells like the day I put it in the bags. You may also want to look into getting a wood moisture meter to check your buds in dry. Bag them at 11% moisture and it can go straight into the grove bags.

I have the biggest and most productive plants from the plants I just chucked in the ground. All I did was work the ground a bit, add some organic fertilizer and turn the drip system on once or twice a week. A lot less work than my indoor grow and a lot cheaper.

The seeds I planted were from ILGM.

I got Do Si Dos seeds from ILGM. I’ll be growing in a greenhouse. I’m in the Blue Ridge mountains of Virginia. The humidity can be pretty high here. Whereabouts are you? Let us know how your harvest turns out. I like success stories.

try 40 years. AND it feels good.
So much to learn is new, internet information supported, quality support equipments. JUST unbelievable, the world really isn’t flat. who knew? Best to you gromies

Don’t buy the bags from Amazon. Most of them are knock offs or over priced. Grove bags website is the only way to go.

I went to what I thought was the Grove Bags web site. All I found was products on Amazon and Ebay. I don’t think they were knock offs because they were listed as Grove Bags. I thought the one pound bags were fairly priced considering the plant limit where I’ll be growing is four. I don’t expect a huge harvest.

I cure and store in 5 gallon hd buckets with the thin lids from the paint section and stores nicely. Some is 7 months now and still amazing quality
