hello I started 6 hours on and 6 hours off a couple of weeks ago to start flowering stage. The plants went from very green to most of the leaves turning brown. What is left of the leaves are mostly yellow colored. Is this part of the flowering process or do i have another problem?
This is my first time in the flowering stage so I’m not sure what is normal.
Is this a problem and what would be causing it.
Also do I need to add nutrients in the flowering stage?
Im using fox farm ocean fores

I believe that for flower is 12-12

What are you temp and humidity?

I hear that fox farm need nutrients after week 4

@lchalupa. You’re definitely missing information, like pH and ppm runoff, temps, etc…

I assume you don’t have them?
@Myfriendis410 @Hellraiser, maybe, just maybe they can help you put together your puzzle.

@MidwestGuy too

No, that’s not normal. Must be an auto to flower under a 6/6 light schedule. The poor girl seems to have every deficiency. Yes, you need to give it bloom nutes in flowering unless you’re using some kind of super soil, even then they can poop out as well mid flowering.

Ouch. Not sure where to begin…

There’s also excess.
You’ll need to check run off to see where you’re at. That will be the first step.

Can you elaborate. What is runoff? Thank you.

Sorry my bad. I said my light schedule as 6-6. That is not correct. I’m using a 12-12 schedule.

You would check your PPM levels on your water/nutrient combination that is excess out of the bottom of the container.

Can you make a recommendation on what nutrient I should use. This is new territory for me.

I have a manual setup for watering. I have a watering container I put tap water in. I poor the water into
the bag, the water seeps down through the soil. the excess water seeps into a container holding the bag. I usually stop watering when I see runoff in the container. So yes I have a little runoff but it not going to be enough to measure. What should I be doing differently?

Fox Farm trio would be inexpensive and a good place to start.

Water a little more than usual to get more runoff to collect and test.

Right now you need to worry about getting your plant reset. Autos are on their own schedule and if you don’t get ahead of it quick you may as well start over. You have deficiencies and excesses that require more data to fix. You need to acquire a digital TDS meter, water plants to runoff with something like R/O water and measure the TDS of the water running out of the bottom of the pot.

Pot size is small and likely rootbound. Not much you can do about that now.

Do NOT flush until we see TDS numbers…

I did some reading about runoff. Makes sense. Now to find a TDS meter.

Thanks for your reply. I ordered a TDS meter. It will be here tomorrow.

Hello. I dont have any more runoff available. I need to water the plants. I will get adequate run off this time around. Question: which of the nutrients do i use and in what quantity.
Here are the nutrients that I am using:
Amazon.com : Fox Farm Liquid Nutrient Trio Soil Formula - Big Bloom, Grow Big, Tiger Bloom Pint Size (Pack of 3) :
Still waiting on TDS meter. should be here by end of day.

Just water to runoff and take a TDS reading of input and output (runoff).

I would refer you to the published grow schedule on the FF website.

Let’s see the numbers first

I went ahead and watered the plants with FoxFarm Big Bloom according to directions. I’m sure
the problem is that the plants are not getting enough nutrients. The soil was very good starting out but then petered out. Once I have the TDS meter I can measure the run off. Off the three fertilizers, I used Big Bloom because the directions said it is mild enough that it can be used with every other watering. I figure anything at this point is better than nothing. Lets see.
