Planning 2nd grow help advice

Hi guys , im trying to plan 2nd grow so ill be running a
600hps in a 1.2m2 tent 2m high . (Would it be worth the upgrade to a 1.5m2?)
Thinking of getting some autopots x4 18.9 litre fabric pots
Gh nutes 3 part with calmag, greatwhite mychorrizae and liquid oxygen ?
Canna Coco professional plus ( not sure what else , do i need pebbles and perlite? )

So im not sure what to grow ,strains(uk based so its be abit on cooler side ) autos or photos i want best yield possible but dont we all i arent counting on that and just growing for that its more cause i loved it 1st time round but you know how it goes ,electric going to cost a fair bit .
I pulled 5oz per plant (autos)rougly on last grow thanks to you guys and was well happy with that even though they took like 5/6 months haha .

I dont have the nutes ,autopots ,soil as of yet waiting to hear your thoughts and opions but this is the plan so far

Ill tag the usual cause your legends and your help is always appreciated same to eveyone else that puts in @Not2SureYet @kellydans @Covertgrower @Oldguy @Davyg

Hey there @Bongtoker!

Canna coco can be used by itself, or you can mix it with perlite and pebbles if you like. It’ll grow fine out of the bag as long as it’s been buffered previously. If it hasn’t, a good soak, with your nutrients, and bring it to the proper PH, and you’ll be good to go.

Any strains picked out yet? I’ll grow anything once. lol.

Cool! I’ve grown gg and gsc, but never a hybrid of them. I always loved the earthy, minty smell of gsc. GSC was the very first indoor grow I did.

Gorilla cookies should have plenty of trichomes if grown well. Both are great strains!

Cool whats your all time favourite strain ? Also do you prefer autos over photos ?

Photos can be much easier to grow. You control the flowering start date and it gives you more time to recover from mistakes in veg. Autos can be twitchy, are more sensitive to nutes, and you sometimes end up with a runt.

My all-time favorite is Blue Mystic.

Nice man that looks beaut, do you have any journals or out ? What sort of training do you do on your photos ?

I generally top a couple of times (usually twice, but 3 times if a plant is particularly hardy) and then trim only as necessary to maintain good airflow with the plant’s canopy. My plants grow otherwise undisturbed.

Training is another advantage to photos. You have to be careful with training autos since you don’t know when the plant might flower. You control when the plant flowers with photos. I would steer new growers away from autos. Many do fine, but some can be a PITA.

Here’s a link to my most recent journal. I did a bit of a tutorial and lessons learned throughout the grow to help the newer growers.

Thanks for the tag and kind words. Before you get autopots. I think I might have a better and cheaper way for you to start  What size tent will you be using? Or if you had the 2 pot. You have more options. I see you will use coco :+1: You can use a tray to do more than a few plants in autopot style. I can do 4 smaller photos in a 24" x 24" tray. I also have a 3x3 pan I plan to try 9 plants in It would be great for a 4x4 tent. 4 plants were perfect for it. I ran them on a 12/12 from start. Each plant gave 2 - 4 oz It is a great way to get a bunch of different strains if you wanted. I am using a 14" saucer for one plant this graw. That has worked out well for me in the past. And the up side is. You only need the saucer. nothing els. just add feed as needed. And let it do the rest. I got 4 oz from a little auto in a 1 gallon pot this way. I forget how much on a 7 gallon photo. But if you want a lazy grow. this makes it as easy as it can get with out buying autopots

This is a 2x2 tray. You can see I fit 6 in to start the vegging in

I prefer photos because I’m able to plan when flowering occurs. I like a plant a certain size it’s usually about the 8-10 week mark approximately. Sometimes more sometimes less. Depends on the plant, and how much space I have available to flower it.

I am far from being the person that’s tried a million strains. A lot of people I’m sure have grown more than myself, but there’s a few strains that I enjoy coming back to, but for different reasons for each strains.

I always try to grow something different to at least say I tried it. You’ll learn that, some plants you love, some are okay, and others you could toss in the trash.
ILGM Super Lemon Haze is a favorite strain I’ll grow for yield, and excellent terpene content. Overwhelming citrus with some pine and earth in there sometimes. The effects are awesome, and I think it’s a great summer strain.

OG Kush, Fire OG are also highly recommended, those are phenomenal citrus and pine combinations.

Nice man thats a good idea , how many times a day would you have to fill the tray up when useing coco ?
Also whats in the middle of the saucer and if its on a 12/12 from the start i guess you still feed grow for abit

I currently have a 4x4 tent i was going to use and put it in my shed but the shed needs sorting out thinking to box the shed of inside make it more air tight to try controll the environment abit better and of course sweet talk the misses .

Its either that or do it at a friends which is also why i thought autopot incase for whatever reason i couldnt get down one day

Has anyone used liquid oxygen on here ? Iv got a friend what absolutely swears by it for getting big buds, but from what i read its more to keeping things clean ? Even if hes hand watering he sticks it in

A lot more people would have flipped to flowering before the 8 weeks. It’s really a guideline. Everyone has preferences.

Even if you can’t get ILGM seeds, there are other companies, that offer the same strains, and you might get similar results growing the same strain.

Hello mate and thanks for the tag. I had great success with Canna professional and I also used Canna nutes. I’m not growing at the moment. I went for mostly feminised because I kept getting hermies and it drove me insane. I tried the autos but my success was limited. As for lighting I ended up going with two QB260 rspec and two QB300s from HLG. I binned the HPS as they were expensive to run, the heat was a pain and I was never fully convinced how effective my bulbs were.

Quality LED lights will save you some money on the power bill. I know the HPS has their advantages too. Specifically in a cold environment putting off extra heat.
Hello @Davyg It’s been a while.
