I am now on my second grow, first for outdoors. Two Acapulco Gold from fem seeds. It’s now day 67. Plants are just 36” and today I saw emerging white pistils. Does the appearance of these pistils confirm plants have now entered the flowering stage?
Pistils at the nodes means it is showing it sex as a female, but it does not imply that you are in flowering. You will need to see pistils at the tips of the plant to confirm flowering stage.

Thank you for the clarification. Growing indoors with my first grow it was easy to determine start of flowering stage simply by changing light timer to 12/12.
I had to go back through the journal for that grow and I noted the appearance of the first “flowers” on day 13 into flowering stage. I don’t see any signs of that as yet with these plants.

It can take a week to 10 days to show pistils once flipped.

Where are you, State? I’m in Maine and am growing outside. I have to check the calendar for when days start 12/12 which in my case is Sept. 25th, which should start the flowing process. Just curious where you are and if you’ve checked your growing calendar? Extremely helpful when trying to determine if photo period plants are flowing outside.
Located in Virginia, southern end of Shenandoah Valley close to Blue Ridge Mountains.

@BlueMtns I can relate to the Blue Ridge Mountains neighboring state to the South I usually see plants start to flower in mid August outside. I try to leave plants till mid October. Or right before first Frost. Good luck and happy growing !
Ok so east coast. Your 12/12 schedule should be as mine is, starting on 25 Sept. we have roughly 1 1/2 mo. left until our 12/12 light schedule starts. This should give you a good idea of when to look to harvesting later Oct. mid Nov. Good luck brother.

Thanks. I located the calendar and yes, Sept 25 for our location. If the plants average height is 6’ and they are currently 3’ growing at minimum 1” per day, then what is the likelihood they will will continue this growth rate until the time that enter Flowering Stage? Will the cooler days to come help slow down the growth? I mean, they won’t turn into tall giants will they? I have them tucked toward center of large area surrounded by 6’ privacy fence and along side closest to public street where we have large trees planted blocking view. Although we can grow up to four plants they must be within a secured location and not visible from public road.
Once they start to flower they will stretch for the first 3-4 weeks sometimes double in size.
plumbdand is right, they will double in size during the flower stretch, so 3’ now, another month or so to go, double in size in flower; I’d say at least 6’ total; but there are a lot of variables. I’m not sure about the colder weather, we’re in that same boat on this issue, really check weather. I’m growing in my backyard with no fences, luckily the plant is out of public view. You should be well into flower before Sept. 25th……
I’m in lower Michigan and currently have just over 14 hrs of daylight and all of my 7 outdoor photos are starting to flower.
With that said, all of my photos are “early versions”, but my understanding is that they are considered “early” due to their 40-45 days of flowering and not how early they start to flower……

It is 9 days after original post when girls were finally presenting their pistils. We have had a good deal of much needed rain over past 3 days so I took advantage during a break to go check the girls. It appears they are now officially flowering! It is day 75 from seed. They have stretched close to 4” in less than 3 days! I will feed them some bloom booster within the next few days.
