These are all the same plant. I have 9, this one is the one that looks different. This is my first year growing so I am unclear. The males were removed early.
Not all of them were removed it looks like a boy or possible hermie
Looks like a hermie to me @iramidi (I changed my answer after @Majiktoker posted and I went back and looked again and saw the pistils! )
Looks hermie to me
Yeah, the odd thing is I did have male plants like 3 weeks ago and I moved them, bagged them in plastic and checked and they looked totally different than this plant. Well, it is far away now. Thank you.
sure they did as they are totally different. A male is a male. A hermie is a plant that starts off female and then (usually due to stress) develops male parts.
I’m going out in a limb here and say it looks more like calyxes (seed pods) to me. I’m having a hard time zooming the pics so it’s a bit hard to see.
I’d crush a few of those suspects and see what’s inside. Caution might dictate removing it from the grow area. Or cut a few off and take them elsewhere to investigate.
Yeah, cut some off (bud rot due to hurricanes - constant wind and humidity and rain) and found little tiny potential seeds, like keyboard period size. I think it was the winds that stressed them initially. Bad timing. Thank you all. Incidentally I am cutting off the buds with rot, removing the rot and then “fast-drying” the rest (boiler room).
I wouldn’t recommend fast drying, unless you have no other option. It can create a harsh smoke. Bag them in brown paper grocery bags for a week and slow them down and you will be glad you did! @iramidi
Funny enough, I was working on a plant today and found a little … pod right at a node. Reached up, squeezed it and found a seed! It made me happy because the only pollen in the garden is some I introduced from a strain I grow. I wanted to cross those 2 next year anyway.
Will do @Bob31. Thanks.
Toss the bags a couple times a day and if you have a hygrometer to check the humidity use that till they are at 55 Rh or below then jar them up. Opening the bag a couple times a day to get fresh air in is a good idea too!
