Perpetual grow question

Has anyone tried or is doing a perpetual grow using Auto’s and Photos in the same room ? Were there any issues/difficulties ?

Autos are just fine in 12/12.

Are you talking both vegging in same room, both flowering, one of each? I would say it depends on your light, and if you’re mixing veg and flowering plants together. If you don’t have something to do both, I could see some difficulties.

I’m starting with photos and really only want to run a single space at a time. So I was thinking I could start autos when the photos get flipped to 12/12 since they dont need a specific light cycle . While the autos start to flower I’d start another set of photos on 18/6 and keep repeating

What about changing the auto light cycle to 18/6 when it’s time to flower? Would that cause an issue with them ?

I see what you’re saying, but if you use HID light. You’re going to need HPS for flowering. It’ll work for veg stage, but the color spectrum isn’t right for veg. If you use qb light, you’d need a 3000k spectrum board. I use 4000k qb light in my veg tent, but just for veg. I haven’t used any other type of LED, so dont know if it covers a full spectrum grow, or geared towards veg or flower spectrum?

I have veg lights and flower lights . Just curious about flipping around light cycles

With an auto, it’ll flower no matter what, but the spectrum or HID light will determine the quality of the grow partially

I have a large room it’s 10x12 so I’d have the veg towards one side and flower in the other

What about humidity levels? Veg needs higher / flower lower

Well in that case, it should work. Google cannabis grown from 12/12, and see what the outcomes are like. If they’re not good, look into giving them each ymwhat they need for light.

Pretty much, imo 50% to 70% humidity in veg phase. Earlier veg phase higher humidity, and lowering down from there. Many can’t control their humidity to that extent though, I think. Flowering you want 50%> imo

What lighting are you using? I can’t help if you are using HID/MH. My experience with 12/12 with autos is with QB304’s (3500K)

Combo of 600 hps and 900w Led for flower
And t5 for early veg then 600MH

But what do I do if they are in the same room with one set flowering and one set vegging ?

Damn that’s a hard one. If you can’t separate it off to have different light schedules. I would say you’ll have to grow the autos from 12/12. Sorry I wasn’t more help. Wanted to help, but without splitting the room into different light schedules I’m not sure now

No worries every little bit of help is a benefit. I’m pretty
New to this so I have a lot of questions and bouncing them off other growers is helping me learn . The easy option is to stick a veg tent in the room but I was hoping to avoid buying more equipment lol

I get that, but if you’re looking for a proper perpetual, I don’t see how you will do mixing autos and photos in the same room. You’d definitely want a set 18/6 20/4 area, and a flowering area. I just did that. My veg tent is pretty small, but it works very well with my 4 manifold plants. If I trained them differently, I couldn’t fit 4 in there. Did you say you had a big space, I’d definitely consider splitting it into two areas.

My plan was that since autos will veg and flower just fine under any light schedule I’d just follow the photo light schedule the entire grow . 18/6 for veg and 12/12 for flower. The autos would just be along for the ride since they don’t need a specific dark / light period

I think you would need to split your space in half to do a perpetual grow but if you did split then you could do some autos in your veg space and move your photos into the flower area when they get to the size you want and replace with clones or new seeds and repeat
