Photo period and autos in same tent?

So planning my next grow and was thinking of getting fem seeds and auto seed. So if I grow them in the same tent. When the auto flowers and the photos still in veg. Can you run an 18/6 lights and still have auto flower? Or do you need to switch to 12/12? And forcing the photo plant into flowering?

The autos will flower no matter what the schedule. I actually have two autos in my photo plants. The autos have been under 12/12 lights with the photos since second week of sprout. My next grow I will start the autos first on 18/6 then have them with photos while the photos are still vegging so they will get more light. They should be about done by the time I switch photos to 12/12. The autos I have now don’t look like they will yield much under 12/12. But they started flowering exactly 3 wks from sprout

auto flowers will flower no matter what… 18/6 is the preferred method some switching to 12/12 for last week or 2… if an auto is kept with fems and you have to go 12/12 that’s fine just know the auto wont yield as heavy

So another question. When I did my photo grow I switched my lights from 6500K (veg) to 2700K(flower) now would I just leave the 6500K for the whole grow with autos? because I may want to keep vegging the photos even thou the autos are flowering.

@Smokin_ernie If you can get rid of the excess heat why not have both running??
obviously to flower they need Red spectrum but keeping the blue in there wont hurt a bit and may well even help THC production, like i said only thing you need to consider is the extra heat  hope that helps

I have auto flowers on the go… I used T5 at start… Switched to a CFL dual bulb for veg… and just now switched to a HPS for flower… seems to be going good

Yes it does help. Thanks. I did get a tent it is going to be here today. Got fan and filter as well. I think I will be ordering another light.

T5s are great for babies @AngelicSoul same with CFL… i use T5s or CFL myself to start then in an ideal world jump to Halide for a while then HPS, that’s room dependant though,

@Smokin_ernie depending on what your looking to spend maybe look at 600w HPS for finishing dual spectrum, or even LED… what size tent have you ordered??

Got a 4x4 tent so I got some room. The light I have now is a 2ft 4bulb. I was thinking of getting another T5 but might have to look into the HPS. I have some time before the seeds arrive. Hoping they are here by the end of the month.

HPS will give you the biggest yields… then LEDs… then your CFLs… a 4x4 would be perfect for either a 600w HPS or say 4 x 300w LED although their true wattage is more like 120-140 hence the need for 4… but that depends on how many girls your going to have growing…

T5s are great for seedlings but maybe not so much for vegging as you want penetrating light… given the fact your talking about doing auto’s and fems just make sure to lift the auto’s as the fems grow unless your SoG’ng

About to do same just have to be more cautious when drop to 12 hr light not to let any light hit during dark period and the autos will be less than potential i believe from reduced light may try to finish the autos out b4 dropping timer
