Happy birthday @patchman I’m sure your girls is going to love there new home. And thanks for the heads up on the myco, I never really knew what it really was. I’ll have to look around for some since I’m trying my hand at cloning.
Happy Birthday @patchman Just curious do you leave a few of inches in pot from the top for a reason. I always fill pot to the top when transplanting, after a couple of waterings soil will settle and leave some space at the top.
Happy cake day man! Sad to hear about the radiation poisoning… thats a super bummer. Hey also, a neat trick or convenient way to transplant is to place your power soil on the bottom of the pot… gently pack it in… then mixed power soil with coco or peat based stuff raise to the height for finished plant… place the solo cup with plant in the middle and with mildly pre moistened material gently pack the material around the solo cup. Lift out the cup and a pefect slot for your plant is there. Sprinkle some myco in the hole and drop the plant in there. I usually water a tad around the outside of the cup to encourage root spread but not much as the soil is pre moistened. Shouldnt really have to water for a few days anyway.
The real reason I do transplants this way is to protect agains air pockets or voids. It also endures consistent packing. And yeah if your soil drains well, by all means pack er in there.
Mr. Nuts-
I do that to leave a little room for nutes, teas, and the like. I just remember a long time ago someone on here was saying that he wished he would have left a little room for the nutes and compost. That’s pretty much it. Peace…
Thanks, I’m always interested in how people do things.
Hey, I am just trying to give back what little I have learned. I also wanted to say sorry for comments on your thread, I was trying to say one last thing and try to get everyone to move on. I get it. We would all shoot anyone who messes with home, family, and garden. Wouldnt think twice. Anyway, its your thread. You keep that positive mental attitude, that will get you very far these days. If you need anything you just holler. Peace…

My brother from the next state over, I thank you for the well wishes. Just hit my blueberry again a few times. Dang she got a kick to her!! One of these days I am gonna drive to Mississippi and see you. I was kind of hoping my buddy would have entered his bud in the contest next month. I want you to win, and him too. I dont know if you’ve seen it, but he took a gold leaf clone and noticed it had a bud on it. Well he cut all the leaves off that plant and shazam- he’s got a 3 foot, 4 inch long bud!!! Holy shit, never seen anything like it. Its in post 314 on this thread. Still coming to see you when I have enough bail money for both of us, lol!!! Peace…
Happy belated birthday @patchman! I keep saying it… All the cool kids are March babies ![]()

Good morning friends!! Thank you all again for my Birthday well wishes, I really appreciate it. Well we are out a day or so from transplanting the girls to their forever homes. They have not shown the first sign of shock. I am guessing its mainly due to them going into the same soil they were already in. Either that or I have some skill at this after all, lol. They look just like they did in their solo cups. Because I am in living soil, I mist the top layer twice a day. If you are not sure what this looks like, just think about the morning dew on the grass in your yard. When watering you only give them 5% of the soil volume, so in my case with 5 gallon pots, that’s only .25 gallons per plant. You just want that rhizosphere moist for the roots and micro organisms. You dont want to drown them, and you don’t want them to dry up. The more you do this the more comfortable you will get. Have a great day in your garden!! Peace…
Hey friends-
Just wanted to pass something along to you. When I am misting the top layer of soil I sometimes get a drop or two on leaves. I look very closely, and if there are any, I take a paper towel and blot the leaves that need it. Its early on and I would like to keep my leaves so they can do their job. Your helpful hint of the day!! Peace…
Good morning friends!!
Just a quick update. Yesterday I noticed a couple of bugs on the soil of my plants. I decided to break out the diamataceous earth. I do not see any others today. Here’s a picture or two.
above- juicy, the blueberry ILGM auto below is majesty the WWCBD auto
Dia. earth is good for killing all kinds of insects, including slugs. So far so good. Will update again soon. Peace…
It snowed on your pretty little babies lol damn bugs!!
This was my first time. Always had something for 'em ready, but never needed it until grow #3. It could have been that crustacean meal in my soil mix that drew them in. Who knows. “Bugs you got 2 options. Stay or leave. If you stay though, you will die a painful death.” Other than that they are growing slowly. Might do a soil slurry to see what my ppm’s are for at this point. May give a compost tea depending on the results. Have a great day everybody!! Peace…
