I wouldn’t use ocean forest for seedlings . Ocean forest on bottom half of pot and top half happy frog.
I’ll be honest I never have used ocean forest I use happy frog and once I put the light up close bout 10 inches away when they first sprouted they took off only using the fox farm trip blend and didn’t add till 3 weeks in I’ve also seen on grow channels that ocean forest can be a little to much depending on strand and genetics thanks for that input mate

Hey I’ve been growing for some time now, mostly indoors. Took some time off, this year i wanted to do outdoors. I germ they popped in 2 days thru them in 3 inch peat pots. Then after about 2 days went ahead cut them bottoms off the 3in peats and put them in 7 gal fabric bag. Its been goin on 2 weeks now & they are just now pushin out the first true leaves. I checked the soil with moisture meter & its only moist about 4/5 inches down but dry up top. Idk what to do?

Seedlings tolerate dry soil far better than wet soil. This is too much water for a seedling. Let your soil dry out before watering again and only give it a few ml of water per day. Increase waterings proportionally as the plant grows, but never more than the plant can dry out the pot in 2 to 4 days. Once the plant is matured, then begin watering to runoff and let the soil dry between waterings.
Overwatering will cause stunting.

Thanks. Yea I’ve been misting them with a water bottle daily a few times a day just to wet the leaves & top of the soil. Then putting a cut off bottle over top since they are in direct sunlight. I got to thinking maybe all the moisture is rising up to the plants? Ive never had this problem before which I’ve never started plants that soon in those size pots/bags.
If you are misting inside a dome there is no need to water the soil at all until the dome is removed. A seedling can get all of the water it needs via the humidity in the dome.
Misting a cannabis plant is never a good idea. It invites more issues than it could ever provide in benefit. The risks are mold, mildew, and lensing.
The seedling looks good. If the top 4-5 inches of soil is dried, then I would leave the dome on and not water again until the dome is removed. The tap root will have only extended 2 to 3 inches down into the soil at this point. Remove the dome and begin watering when the seedling outgrows the dome. It should only take a few days.
Yeah i feel like they are just stunted or something bc they went in the dirt May 23 outside and this is as big as they’ve got. My soil is some cheaper soil from walmart since there is no hydroponic stores within 100 miles, i only added earthworm castings for the time being. I have some dry amendments such as bone meal & blood meal but i haven’t added any yet bc i figured it might would be strong for the seedlings.
I expect is was from overwatering.
What soil (brand and type) are you using? Some soils are bad news.
I have always used Roots Organics in the past. Now since no stores carry it anymore I went to walmart and bought some Expert Gardener Organics Garden Soil. Added some coco coir & perlite. I tried to put a big more perlite just to make sure drainage was good since the temperature in my area are close to tropical in the states.
Plants are starting to pick up a little size it seems. The soil was starting to dry out good and of course we got a rain shower. Now ive noticed the cotyledons are turning yellow.
