Funny thing, i never end up with the exact list of strains i set out to grow. Some of my seeds are singles. So i only get 1 chance at germination.
When are you dropping seeds
4/20 ill be starting all my seeds. I wanna be planted by june 1. Gonna go to san diego for a bit. Family vacation of sorts. Id like to have them of good size when i put them out.
Ill get them settled in before i go.
How many plants are you gonna grow
Im thinking 9, i got 8 holes and im digging one more right now. Thats 1 less than last year. Im trying to downsize my outdoor grows. Baby steps, i guess…if i had somewhere for my overflow to go, id grow 12. But i dont, so its alot of waste. I need to figure something out to help that problem.
@Lightbrightt2010 You will definitely enjoy his summer grow. They are fun to watch.
@W.B.elpaso Looks like a sweet line-up
The GSCX should be beautiful for you. I’ll have at least 1 outside this year.
@W.B.elpaso grows some monsters in his greenhouse. We share weed and seeds, sprouts and once I drove home with a 5ft plant wrapped in plastic
wrap. Strain was Something cool
Too cool, i totally forgot about that. You wrapped that plant up like a pro. I was impressed that it went so well.
Unfortunately caterpillars nearly destroyed that plant. I think I got about a half pound.
Lookin fantastic buddy. Do you like those auto watering pots?
Bases? Thats right. How they working out? Do you water to run off all the time?
Im using them like a dwc hydroponic sort of. After roots made it to the bottom of the grow bag I stopped top feeding and watering. I mix mix nutes and pour it in the bases. I have 2 air stones and an air pump for each base. No top watering or feeding. You have to use nutes that wont clog the wicks. I feed every day. I to 1.5 gallons at 2.0 to 2.6 ec at 5.9 to 6.2 ph.
According to Ac infinity youre supposed to lift the bags every now and then to clean the wicks and keep the root from entangling them. Your also supposed to clean the bases every so often. Ive talked to a few people that only clean them at the end of the grow. Ive given them some teas from the top to feed the microbes a couple of times but not to run off.
The one time I watered in some top dressing and used too much water it turned the plant yellow and burned all the leaves and new growth. I had to flush over 20 gallons of ph’d water through the bag 1 gallon at a time. Took me all night.
Here she is now
Nice bounce back!
Very cool @plumbdand , wonderful plants, great work!
I was working my soil in the gh yesterday, and i noticed that i have a gopher problem. Even though i protected my roots with a wire cage. The gopher actually came out of the ground crawled over the lip of my raised beds and climbed in to eat all the roots left from last years grow. With all the roots gone, the soil level is way down. Now i gotta add more. Just cray, stupid gophers!!
What i have noticed in my years out here now, the gophers dont bother any of my plants until. Winter time. Thats when he eats the roots. Killed 7 of my willows i had going. Alot of destruction was done to my yard this winter. Im not happy
That sucks,
I thank you sir for showing that event. Id be happy to take part.
Its been raining at my place all day. Well needed rain. How bout you @plumbdand ?? Getting wet over there? Ive been puttering in my gh today. The gopher didnt do to much damage. But im topping off my holes with fresh soil.
I also am putting shade netting on the inside of my raised beds. I was getting alot of runoff out the top as my boards have to big of gaps. Im hoping the netting will hold thesoil better at the top. I think it will help me watrr more evenly and get rid of dry spots.
Always looking to improve on my grows. Making The little things count

I think i will try and hold off on dropping seeds till may 7th or so. Trying to keep there size reasonable, without alot of tying and training
