Of course. It is a lot of things…that could be one; but even if they do care, their yield/needs may become a more important factor at any part of the process than things one cares about for things they/sick family are consuming.
If I had 9 problems growing right now, yield would likely not be one (and hasn’t been for a long time).
A lot of things change when someone needs to grow more than several pounds a year. That is not a lot of folks’ needs.
It also depends on what you’re doing with the final flowers…smoking, vaping, eating; or squishing then vaping or decarbing/eating, etc.
There’s several journals out there of some impressive auto grows. Personally know one who pulled 18 zips off a single auto. I grow autos and do fairly well, I want brag about it though and I only see them on weekends
That was my philosophy when I tried to grow autos, a happy plant is a happy plant. Treat them no different than I would any other plant, but it didn’t work out so well for me.
You hit the nail on the head. I’m sure if I had gotten good genetics I would have been happier. I had 1 runt and a whole bag of Bruce Banner seeds that never autoflowered. All in one grow after another entire grow of nothing but larf. By the time I flipped them they were pushing the roof off even after several toppings. After that nightmare I gave up and went back to what I know. I since found this forum and realized most of my problems where cuz I got autos from rocket seeds. It just left a sour taste in my mouth after a good year of ye old college effort and only a few decent plants to show for it. Plus I don’t sell but I do try to supply several friends the highest quality medicine I can muster and that seemed to be easier with photos. I like to torture them too. My last experiment was a mainline topped 16 times that just refused to stop growing. I appreciate you taking the time. Where can I find some good auto seeds? I was thinking about giving them another try this winter to add a little variety.
I think that depends on what your goals/ needs are… genetics have come a long way recently. I haven’t bought seeds in years after accidently growing a tent of auto fem seeds from multiple strains many grows ago. I’ve also never grown ILGM, but I’ve seen many of their autos grown elsewhere for 1-2lb single plant harvests in capable hands. This forum, being attached to a seed company isn’t the best place to openly talk about their competitors but there are many impressive auto breeder that you can get seeds for locally depending on where you are, or online… my generic advice would be to get some during various sales and not spend more than ~$5 for even top-end seeds… most breeders/vendors give away freebies with online orders too. There’s a universe of genetics out there.
Hey Sky.
Good to cya my friend,
Ive decided to put together a new grow just planted 6 seeds 20 minutes ago. This will be another living soil adventure so ill use this forum to post my adventure if thats ok with everyone. Looking forward to reading what everyone else is working on.
Clover has the ability like other legumes to actually extract nitrogen from the air we breathe and incorporates this into the soil. But in order for this to happen it has to have been growing for some time (not sure how long) in order for it to form nodules on its roots and that is when it’s able to do this.
As others have stated you can chop it and reincorporate it into the soil or simply keep it alive and re ammend the pot for another grow and this way the clover is aged and inputting N into the soil.
I mostly use 15+ gallon size pots now so it’s much easier to continue using same soil without dumping and just re ammend and go again. You also will have more nutrients available in bigger pots reducing the need to feed during the grow and allows for adding worms and they will have a better change in a bigger “fish tank” lol
Hey @Budbrother hope all is well with you.
I have a question regarding brewing teas and the time to brew for a fungal dominant versus a bacterial dominate brew.
I seem to remember something about how long it’s brewed say 24 hours being more fungal and 36 to 48 becoming more bacterial but not sure if this is correct or is the opposite.
Part 2 is which would I strive for fungal or bacterial in veg versus flower.
Veg: Bacteria and Protozoa can double somewhere between every 12 minutes and 24 hours based on temps and food. I run for 20 hrs. Then I add a handful of grass (Protozoa) and dollop molasses for 2 hrs. I don’t let bacterial brews go for more than 22-23 hrs usually. Never more than 30, for me.
Flower: Fungal is way slower to develop hypha. Those brews, I usually run 40-45 hrs.
Anyone ever grind dried banana chips ? Like a top dress or top dress mix? Into a meal? I never have but this caught my eye. These crush soo easy to dust. Like ritz crackers or saltine crackers.
Hey Warkat been a long time hope all is well with you!
I also took a break for awhile and just got back into things helping a friend out learning to grow.
