Opinions on which light to get

Merry Christmas everyone  So I’m looking to get another light and I’m wondering people’s opinion. I have about $200 to spend. I know it’s not much but it’s what I’ve got. Should I go for the spider farmer 1000 or go for the hlg 100 R-Spec? Or something else? Your time and opinions are appreciated. Thank you in advance. Happy growing

Merry Christmas to you @larry1

Merry Christmas Larry1 and family, what size area do you want to light? Do you want a plug n play or are you handy with a drill and sawz-all?

It all depends on how big or small your grow space it… I been digging my spyder farmers . But I also ended picking up 2 of theses KUAREZ 2000 LED Grow Light off Amazon and gots a 30 dollar off coupon right now. Pick it up for 150 bux. Been happy with them so far

I have a 2 ish by 3 ish foot homemade tent. I had 2 300 w Amazon lights in it and everything was fine but not good enough  so not too long ago I bought the spider 1000 and put it over the big girl and she’s loving it. Now that it’s Christmas time and I got a few Christmas dollars I was thinking about taking out the 2 300w cheapos and putting them in my veg tent and get a new light for the other side of the flower tent to replace the cheapos. I hear really good things about the hlg line but the spider Farmers doing pretty darn good and it’s right at my budget.

I’m leaning towards that hlg 100 R spec. Put the spider and the hlg side-by-side and see what happens.

Yeah I’m pretty handy around the house I guess. I built both my grow tents. LOL.

If you get HLG 132 QBs and a 1750ma driver a few odds and ends and alu. angle for frame you could build something 200-240w for right at $200-220 and you could configure it the way you want!

I think the 135 rspec kit would be slightly more cost and space efficient with the code dude (I think it’s still active for 10%off) if you don’t mind the easy task of putting it together

All of that is foreign to me. If you show me a video on how to do it I could do it. I do like projects. I also like what greensnek was saying about the 135 kit.

The kit seems like a pretty good deal

Very easy if you get a kit … What ever kit you get just type model number and “kit assembly” ull get 20 youtube videos …but you really. Dont need to do much on elsctric for 1 board… Red in pos black in neg done deal … Potetiometer if you got dimmable is just a switch wire end to end and back its just a 1 direction polarity switch 10 to 100% i think gives you controll not having to raise or lower so much u can got up and down in intensity

Sounds easy enough thank you

Qb 120’s would be my choice if you can find them. And the driver would be an hlg-240h-c2100a. I could build that with 200

I am growing in a 5x6 + - (getting closer to 6 x 6 every day). My main light is a Spider farmer SF-4000 Dimmable Full Spectrum Led (very pleased with it). I wanted to augment it with a couple of less expensive lights and went with the Exlenvce 1500W 1200W LED Grow Light Full Spectrum for Indoor Plants Veg and Flower, Daisy Chain Function (Triple-Chips 15W LED) from Amazon. I’m actually surprised at the PAR readings I get from them. At around 24" height I get readings right around the 730 range and its got a decent spread. They also have a four year warranty. I’m sure these friends can offer better advice because this is my first setup. My girls seem to be thriving with this system though. Two of those small lights came to $261.99.
