Gonna take the leap with Carol and put her in the Hydro system, Started with taking her out of soil and transplanting in a 3" net cup with clay pellets. Roots hang down about a 1.5". When she has a good root growth I will transplant into 6" net cup bucket tops, I have been chasing leaks in the 6 - 5gl. bucket system. Trial run so far so good 7/4/2021. running RWDC into a 30gl res. and using Jacks nuits. May have to have some help figuring out formula, I don’t want to burn anything up. Buckets are prob. 4gl full and res is maybe half full. Using a submersable pump but so far water temp is chilly. When I feel system is ready I’ll take a PH, EC measure. Transplant on Carol went smooth, so far no trama.
Abby is 8.5", Bea is 4.5", Carol is 1/2" in water, I need to spray a gator aid bottle black so I can fight the algae, Deb is 1/2" in soil. I haven’t seen much change in the last couple of days except for Abby is growing 5 finger shoots in the first node. I think they all are in a root growing phase. I’m resisting the urge to over water. I noticed one of the tips of a waterleaf on Abby had browned maybe 1/16", not bad I can live with it. Hydro is up and running 24hrs and no leaks. I think I’m going to give the baby girls some real sun for about 1hr. today. Cat
7/8 Took Carol back to soil today, Deb was the runt and she is showing good progress where Carol has shown none and is looking weaker. I may have tried to transplant to soon. Abby is at 9.5" and is showing signs of bottom branches, Bea is at 5.5" and filling out nicely. Any suggestions on how old or how tall the girls should be before transplanting? Cat
7/9 Carol is coming back slow, Deb is growing strong. Abby is 10" and I started topping, Bea is 6.5" but she doesn’t have the new growth on the bottom limbs.
7/12 Gave Abby a haircut this afternoon, had to let the lower branches get some light. Bea doing great, Carol and Deb are sporting their third set of leaves.
If anyone tries to tell you growing old is the golden years they are young. It hurts more when you do stupid stuff because you think you should know better. Trauma and drama hit the Cat house this morning, I was moving Bea to give her better light and knocked over Carol and Deb Deb took a header from about 2’ and landed in a 6" net cup in the hydro system, Carol (bless her heart) took a full fall of 4’ got dumped out of her new home as of last night and got buried. Deb was sitll in her pot but suffered a broken water leaf, like a DA I went to pinch it off and got the wrong one. Carol has now been transplanted 3 times in the last week. May the God of weed look down and bless my babies, give them strength to overcome. They say what don’t kill ya makes you stronger. If Carol pulls though she gonna be good. Cat

I transplanted Carol into her perm. home, No more trama for this yourn lady,
backed off on the water till they show signs . No brown tips no wilted leaves. just a gut feeling I had to much water. The force is strong with these ladies. I’m dealing with heat and humidity. **
Shout out guys, @Hellraiser@yoshi@Leholf I got gnats, they are sometimes a swarm. I have a bug zapper and duct tape but they just laugh at the tape. I made the mistake of overwatering and I am in the process of letting soil dry. I have good drainage in my buckets. I also am growing pepper plants and the gnats seem to love them, they leave larva on the underside of my pepper plants. I am having a silght yellowing between veins on my girls, tips show signs of overwater and growth has slowed. My question is has anyone run into these little SOBs and what is the best way to stop them. is a 1:4 hydrogen peroxide solution good? Is there a quicker way. I also have been running into a temp prob. I have a window air and I just use the fan most of the time but the last week we have had some killer hot temps. with high humidity. I’m coming up on drier days and cooler temps. Ph is OK 6.9, I know a little high but nothing to worry about. When buckets dry I will adjust. But the gnats are driving me nuts. Thanks Mike
@yoshi
Plants slowed down, I don’t think I have a larva infestation, more a heat and water thing. Only thing is they piss me off and buzz my face, I’m afraid I’m going to knock myself out swatting the little #@$holes. They are real slow, I can squash them on the leaves, I think they’re stoned. Cat
You speak about age, one of my biggest mistakes in my grow was not using my vertical space.
My garden is 3.5’ tall in a 8’ closet. I could have put it on a base and worked on it standing. But I put on the floor and my knees and back hate me for it.
