Old school 1st Auto Grow

Good morning Grow Bros. Need some advice from y’all on my 2 auto Skittlez and medium. I purchased a 4 auto pots with air domes. With the hours I’m working this route of watering seem to be the best way to go. Anyway, I was planning on blending Happy Frog soil with some auto living soil in 1 pot and HP and coco in the 2nd pot as an experiment on which works best. I want to feed straight water and thinking at around week 6-8 they’ll need a nutrient supplement. I PH soaked the clay pebbles that’ll cover the air dome and help with drainage. Nicky

I tagged you, pretty sure I read your journal and you grow with auto pots?? Any and all advice will be truly appreciated. @Capt.Cola @Axemanjake23 @merlin44 @AfgVet @Nicky @MoBilly @PharmerBob

The first auto is 11 days, 2nd is 8 days old and I’d the 3rd smaller one looks different… it is. I tried my hand at sprouting a Granny Smith Apple seed. If the grow is successful at least I’ll have some apples to munch on :sunglasses:

I’d keep both mediums the same to make it easier to feed, diagnose, and be able to view growth as normal and comparable.

I did a go farm/coco and needed to feed from start with photos once they became rooted in the system.

@repins12 does well with autos…I kill them :man_shrugging:

Thanks @PharmerBob. I see the value in keeping the medium the same at least for simplistic reasons. Food for thought and appreciate it!

Hey bro :sunglasses: I really like the auto pot set up!!! There are a few people who run the auto pots and have great success. @Not2SureYet and @Nicky could you help a dude out!
Just throwing this out there as a question but is coco better suited for the auto pots then soil? After I finish up my stash of ffof I’m going to try coco.
Did they start the construction on the porch?

Coco is easier to use since it doesn’t have any salt content to start. You add everything to it you want your plants to have through watering.

Soil usually comes preloaded and you have to keep an eye on the plants to know when you start feeding.

Thanks Capt, my other grows were coco and I and they like it. With the auto pots I’m thinking the clay pebbles and coco will keep the pots from becoming over-saturated. Typical sub-contractor is a no show until 4/9. I’m so posted about chopping the last grow because of these ass whipes. Decided to put a deadbolt lock on the garage door to keep all nosy folks out. The addiction overcame me me bro and had to drop some beans, here is the auto living soil concentrate I got.

Yea dude that sucks! A dead bolt is on my list of things to get also. I hear ya about wanting to start another grow. I’ll be dropping my gdp autos in the next day or two. Even considering running a photo or two since I have the space now. Just need another 260xl or a 320 and two tents will be running.

I don’t know anything about autopots but HP and coco mix, what’s the HP? ProMix? If so you’ll have to start feeding them right away

Thanks AfgVet, HP was meant to be Happy Frog potting mix

I’ll say Brother! Awesome job on the build. I’m thinking of dropping some phenos when the patio is done or time the autos so the phenos use the same lighting hours during veg

Ah ok. Disregard what I said then

I’m going to take a pass on this one. I grew three autos. One did well. One never developed amber, and one died a horrible lingering death.
I’ll leave all the autos to you guys.
At least until I get my ducks in a row as far as growing.
Wish I could help. :relaxed:
You got the right people on board though.

@OGIncognito same goes for me, no help here.

@Capt.Cola coco and other soil less mediums are better for cannabis because the nutrients provided are easily absorbable.

Nutrients in soils must be broken down first and that’s why soil is living, as it must use the micro organisms and bacteria fungi and the plant all working together in order to feed each other.

The only things that I have ever used is soil or water. I’m no help with CoCo :v:t4:

Auto Skitz update: the 2nd auto that is 7 days younger has passed the first one in growth. The 1st didn’t like coco and living soil. Repotted in Happy Frog and seems to be recovering slowly. Dimmed the 2nd one yesterday and seems to like it experienced no effect. Going to drop a couple of pheno seeds in the other 2 auto pots when the autos get around week 5 hoping the phenos will be ready for a light flip and harvest time on the autos. @Capt.Cola @MoBilly @merlin44 @Axemanjake23

Working on the temp tent set up until I can completely rebuild the closet.

For a temporary setup your tent looks good! Nice work on doing a fim. Will see in a couple days how it turns out! Do you have your auto pots on? And how do you like them?
Planted my gdp seeds last night and plant to start an Ak and blue dream in the next few days. Hope the porch work started!

Thanks Capt, it was killing not to grow something. Man I’ve replanted sunflowers, Lilly’s, dahlias, the list goes on. I turned the pots on yesterday, they recommended waiting and top feeding for 2 weeks. I’ve got aqua domes under them and will turn those on in a couple of weeks. Yeah they finally started on the patio with 2 weeks left, dying to wire, insulate and drywall the garage with some AC. Thinking of a Mc Giver temp solution… thinking about taking an electric cooler and pipe in some cool air to the tent??? Still brain storming, definitely won’t be able to use my intake fan, maybe a cpu fan that won’t suck all the cold air out of the cooler at one time. Got any suggestions @MoBilly @Capt.Cola @merlin44 @PharmerBob @Axemanjake23
