Don’t get too excited, I heard that it will be an uphill battle since Ohio state government isn’t in favor of citizens overruling them. Licensing might be challenging over the next few years. Something similar happened in Michigan and it took years to get licensing worked out because state government kept dragging their feet, but all is good now!

Good news is you will be able to grow your own right away.

In Missouri it happened fairly fast as it was written into the constitutional amendment that was voted in. However the application fees for a dispensary were $6,000 non-refundable and 10K yearly fee is accepted. You had to have 100k disposable cash and prove experience in business preferably cannabis related. By far the majority of applicants were turned down. There is no dispensaries near me. It seems those who are in positions where decisions are made will do what local voters want. Large cities hold the most liberal voters, but smaller population areas are generally conservative. So we in small towns dot get to have cannabis business.

Ah, lucky Ohio! New York has made such a mess of things that we still can’t legally grow our own. Fortunately, neither my neighbors nor the cops care anymore. No one bothered me about my trees. Still I’ll be happier next growing season when I won’t have to care who sees what. (We got our home insurance cancelled, and I think it was the 11-foot White Widows out there that did it.)
