Right on, I ordered a liter of UP, I have alot of gh down and lineup to get through.
@Nicky I felt a couple of pots this afternoon b4 light out. They are all back sad. I think this light is alot more intense then I’m use to and I’m fighting that. Oh back to pots, they are only 5" net pots with 2" RW cube and backfilled with clay. They always feel light to me compared to any dirt pots. Those I can easily feel, grown alot of everything through the years.
@Nicky well I turned Frankenstein’s Sun down 88 watts last night b4 I came in. They are all happy and standing proud this morn. Guess to young to blast right yet. This new light definitely a learning curve.
Use DLI, lux depends on more variables. Use that DLI app.
I know you help alot of people and things get mixed/over looked. No worries here homie. So we have been through this a couple times…short story, don’t wanna bug my woman and her phone. Got a lid meter cuz my phone sux. Got with you and figured best lid tomppfd calc for me and my needs.
Today’s numbers…
6.2ph adj to 5.9( as low as Im comfortable with till ph up gets here)
573ppm
84*
50%
26 dli
All seem very happy, leaves have stood up and opened wide. If all goes well the next few days I’ll start pumping my ppm up. 3.5 weeks old in the system planted in about a week old.
Question for y’all @Nicky and @dbrn32 , with this light I built is it better to be closer to canopy(4-6") and turned down or higher(10-12") and wattage up?
Raising and lowering light doesn’t put more or less light into your space, it just changes the pattern of light emitted. So I would try to run it all full power if possible and then work on what you feel is the best position to run it from there.
Agreed that lux to ppf conversion is different depending on the light spectrum, so trying to look at definitive lux is difficult.
Right on, I’ll let them settle down a couple of days and see about adjusting some more. Right now I’m running 209 watts on a 320 at a footish away. That same distance @ 290 watts and they was very sad and unhappy.
So you say raise the light and crank it up?
Something like that haha
Well couldn’t help myself, went out raised to 18 and turned back up to 290.
Makes sense to me. Just getting use to these lights is different. 6 spread out boards is ALOT different then any hps I’ve got.
I guess reading y’all smash these lights on the canopy is what’s kinda throwed me. Maybe that’s more for flower time?![]()
Hard to say what everyone is doing and why. There are those just trying to do best they can with what they have, and others have a plan whether it be right or wrong. Also those that will kinda leave you scratching your head haha.
I knew someone out here had that issue with the phone /DLI app but didn’t recall it was you, so thnx for giving me the benefit of the doubt because I do get lost and it becomes un realistic at times to go back and read 30 posts above to reply to a question lol.
Let’s sort this out because you have been helping alot and I want to be able to give you the best information for your grow as well
How many tents do you have?
What size is each?
What light is in which tent, brand, model, Wattage Kelvin ratting?
Inside each tent what week of veg or flower are the plant that are in it?
Hey thanks Nicky, just in a single room at this time. If I had more going on I’d be fully bald! I know it’s just me and a learning curve with these super solar mimicking lights. I can walk into any room and adjust an hps and have no problems, heat and all. Give this super dooper efficient sun beam and I’m screwing the pooch🙃
Thought they was looking better this AM and then by 11 they look like they had been in mid July sun with no water for weeks.
So before the lights went out today I raised light by 6" and bumped the wattage up 45ish. Quick ck with meter and I was around 21-25k lux, should be safe.
Totally anticipating tonight. Tired of them looking sad. Should be standing out proud and to the net by now.
@Nicky I believe all good this morn. Well at least I’m happy they look happier.
I went snopping around @AfgVet earlier grows with the qb120 builds and seen the distance on lights so I raised to 21" last night and all seems well. I’ma flush the system for a couple days and if they react well I’ll load’um up.
Thanks y’all:+1:![]()

This is why I don’t like soil, plants react so slow…
Your right though just gotta keep working on it, learning curve which you seem to be accepting that challenge and jumping all over the forums sucking up information and helping others with what you know along the way.
As always any questions tag away.
Straight hydro here, never grown indoor dirt. Old system I bought back in 2000-01 came with 480hps. Now have added through the years a 4x8 table 2 4x4 and 1 2x4. 480hps old boat anchor ballast, 3 600hps Digi ballast 1 1000w mh old ballast. Got a few under my belt just never top notch.
Oh and now these new LEDs I came here to learn to build👍
My bad I thought I seen it wad dirt,
Well hydro will react fast then they should perk up. If all is well…
So so the lux ratings for the MH will be different then the ones for the HPS
But that option is there in the converter.
Need more info though about what plants are in what tents what tent has the MH in it because the rest have HPS it seems right, veg in the. MH tent of course.
What plants in what stages are In what tents?
Ok let’s start over…
Hi @Nicky my name is @StonedCold13, joined this forum to help me get up with the times and build an LED or 2😎
While reading around and looking through people’s grows I notice I suck!!
Im now on my 3rd go here(new house, new state). Different setup then I use to.
I’m not climate controlled now like I use to be. That’s coming but not for awhile. So I have a 6x6x7 grow room now, tiny from what I was in. So since I have limited space I decided to bust out the Old Apollo 11 system. I don’t know what type it is, I’ve always called it a drip system but it could be nft I don’t know nor care that much, it holds water, plants and circulates nutes. Not hi tech just older and cool to me! So no flood tables or old lights at this time. Just my trusty Apollo 11 and these new high fangled LEDs, added new nutes this round.
Been doing this off and on since early 2000s, alot more off then on. I’ve never been proud of any of my grows, I mean it’s weed, ya get high but that’s it.
So this round I built these new lights, stepped up to GH 6 part and have decent beans this time, not y’all’s high end genetics but I’m getting closer. This will be the 1st time I’ve had any beans with a name:heart_eyes:. I’ve grown great vegetables and use to have a market garden b4 the move, grow great pizza toppings:sunglasses: raise bees all wild caught, so I’m not ignorant just need some guidance beside these 2 books I got. When I came here looking for help on a led I didn’t know I’d be sticking around. The social media is t really my thing but damn y’all’s club house is cool. Hard to walk away from knowledge! And now I got a little Canadian buddy that looks like Steve O:metal:![]()
well, there’s my drama. Thanks for dealing with my shit,I’m learning everyday I breath!
I’ve always ran 6.3-.5 pH and now y’all got me down to 5.8. it’s changes like this I’m dealing with too. I think all the little changes this round are just giving me shit. Should always only change 1 thing at a time.
