thats one branch end with I dont know? Maybe 6 or so individual colas off the main branch end. They are all like this. Every branch. Literally thousands of buds sites. Too many to actually count. As opposed to a banana shaped branch with a single cola. You may need to zoom in?
Happy cake day ![]()
Cake! Happy give me some of that cake day! BEARDLESS!
I’m set to Watching. Finally got the desktop computer set up. Should be on here a bit more.
Now theres a friendly face! Hows life Myfriendis?
I topped all of my autos at 3 weeks. Going into flower now at almost 5 weeks. Doubled my branches and bud sites. ![]()
Wow awesome! I just completed my first auto grow… I’m definitely going to watch closely I started a second grow and change some things I’m doing 18/6 vs 20/4, using fabric pots vs buckets, and only two this time vs three. I’m sticking with the ffof
How do you top your autos? Do ou do SLT?
Yesir, started LST as seedlings, and topped at 3 weeks.
Uploading: 0CEE66B2-83C9-46CC-B1A8-54FDAFF99499.jpeg…@Not2SureYet. How and why can you veg autos longer in coco versus soil? I’m intrigued. Lol
Moving sucks if you didn’t know it already haha.
We’re in our brand new home in Colorado Springs, trying to shoehorn all of our stuff into the new place. Went from 95F on Saturday, 87F on Sunday and woke up to snow on Monday. Supposed to be 80F today.
@Myfriendis410 pretty cool this morning here
Not good for making water.
@Cannabian I saw that same deal on a GS I did a while back. I was kind of wondering why I had so many small colas as to a few more larger ones. I think you showed why. I was topping her like a mad man LOL
@NugFlush, I am not really sure why that is. I have never topped as early as @T-ROY, That would scare me seeing all the little ones that have came from early toppings. I will have to keep an eye on those
A little earlier topping would work better for me if I could get away with it. More time for the branches to split before hitting the top of the scrog.
I have never used a 24/0 light. I know for what I have done. They do a lot of their growing at lights out.
I was using a 16/8 for every one. I have went back to the gas lantern though. I get just as good of results with a lower electricity bill and less time on the equipment. And before I am asked ![]()
Oops. Forgot what side I am on lol Here is a run down. I copied the info from another site I was going to link to
12-1 Lighting Method AKA The Gas Lantern Routine – Save 30-50% on your energy costs!
How to reduce the cost of growing cannabis saving 30-50% on your electricity bill using the 12-1 lighting schedule.
The 12-1 lighting schedule is as follows 12 hours lights on, 5.5 lights off, 1-hour lights on, 5.5 lights off, and repeat schedule. The 1 hour on in between off period fools the plants that stay in vegetative growth state! Your immediate savings are 5 hours in energy costs daily, as well as your bulbs and equipment lasting longer. But how do the plants react to this lighting schedule?
You see immediate growth response from your plants, they are happy from the added rest time. By day 14 the plants tripled in size. The plants are bushy with twice as many bud sites without topping or bending, In fact when you top and stretch your plants out, you get many more bud sites than you would have had under 18-6 using same procedure of topping and stretching plant, your growing bigger and better and faster.
So your saving 5 hours daily in energy costs, as well as your excellerated growth pattern which also saves you time and energy and equipment use.
In the flowering stage, never use 12-12, start your flowering period at 11 hours on 13 hours off. When your are growing outdoors each day you get less and less sun light, you should copy the way the sun acts naturally in your indoor grow. So first 2 weeks of flower you go 11 on 13 off, the next 2 weeks you go down to 10.5 on 13.5 off, next 2 weeks 10 on 14 off, next two weeks 9.5 on 14.5 off and the last weeks of flower you should be at 9 hours on and 15 hours off. You’ll get bigger and better buds by copying the way the sun light works on cannabis outdoors.
Cannabis is an outdoor plant and you should copy the way it grows outdoors indoors. The only thing that 18-6, and then 12-12 lighting schedule’s do is make the energy companies rich as well as the people who sell lights and equipment, the more you use the more you spend. 12-1 lighting schedule is a more natural way to grow indoors and you well have the best results you have ever had and save as much as 50% in energy costs.
Well hopefully the move was worth it?
I’m much closer to both of my hunting buddies and the hunting areas: South Dakota, Nebraska, Wyoming and of course Colorado. Kansas as well.
Do you have to pay an out if state license fee to hunt in a different state? We have to do that in Canada. Fortunately unless I wanted to hunt antelope or polar bear, pretty much every major game animal lives in BC
Have you tried that emergency savings 12-1?
Yes. This grow was done that way for veg. I am staying at 12/12 for flower. I don’t want to give the autos any less than that.
Is the lantern schedule standard practice for you? Or gave a try for this? Comment on effectiveness?
Ya I’m on week 3 now and been doing 18/6… but I have 3 autos and 2 photos going at the same time… not sure how the photos would do with that new schedule
I have used it a fw times before. It depends on what I grow really. I would use it for every grow. But alot of times. I am moving autos in when photos are flowering. I do try and use it as much as I can.
@FreshGrowmie All of these were grown on that schedule. They are all in flower now. Or starting. ![]()
The closest are a pair of autos. The others are all photos. They are about the third picture down.
