@John7 you should check out these pics of my northern lights too
Wow that’s a nice tree a lot of good strains has northern lights crossed with it.
It is actually the most perfect specimen of all my plants. It has zero major flaws. It is not the biggest but it will still yield well because the buds are packed more densely on this more than any of my other plants.
Normally you want larger node spacing but this plant is having zero issues with disease the whole season. It wasn’t even in the best location, it is near tomato plants that normally would have spread some fungal issues to it. So it is a testament to the strong genetics of Northern Lights, very disease resistant - they say it tends to do well even in bad conditions.
I just finally found the first bud with bud rot on it. Not worried about it because this plant is very healthy and resistant. I’ll be harvesting this weekend, she looks just about done. Depending on how the trichomes look on Thursday, I may decide to wait until next week to harvest but she looks about at her peak.
The flaw of the Super Silver Haze is that it grew so unmanagably large and cracked down the base of the stem. But even with her flaws, I still suspect the SSH will be the true winner.
Those are awesome my friend wish I was there with those sticky bugs
@John7 Haha me too. The Northern Lights had a nice aroma to it, a little more pungent than I expected. The strain was especially hardy which i think was it’s main string point. The bud was not especially potent, although I think anotber 3 to 5 days would have made the bud slightly better. The high isn’t overwhelming or anything out of the ordinary, but that is part of why I appreciate. Northern Lights was very common in old commercial strains and even these days is in so many hybrids. So in a way it is very familiar, if that makes any sense. Northern Lights to me represents good ol Classic weed. This is quite suitable for daytime too whereas more heavy indicas i usually only smoke at night.
Years ago I had a pound dealer that would give me several pounds at a time of what he referred to as “indoors”. No strain name, no nothing. It was shitty commercial bud. I asked him what strain it was and he said he would get back to me. He told me eventually that it was Northern Lights. I couldn’t believe it because I always heard Northern Lights was great, and this bud was kinda shit. It looked good but had little flavor or potency. It was also usually way too moist and uncured. He told me that how its grown has more to do with it than the strain.
But honestly this bud does seem eerily similar to that bud in overall appearance. Occasionally it did have a little odor to it and it had some similarity to what I grew. So I finally believe he was correct, that it was some type of Northern Lights or hybrid with NL - the only difference is that my plant was a near perfect manifestation of the strain, it reached much of its potential. I can recognize the resemblance, this is just an awesome version of the commercial bud i bought back in the day. So it feels like a nice throwback especially since it feels like I righted a wrong by growing it well and seeing what the strain really has to offer.
Hey I had to go with satellite internet. I waited 2 months and the power company still hasn’t fixed the power lines on our street. But now I can get back on ILGM site regular. Hope you are doing well.
Who needs power when you can access ILGM via satellite? Lol
Indoor growers I suppose. Fortunately we have the sun!
We ended up getting a t mobile tower after the hurricane.
Hope you had no serious loss
We made it okay. Thanks.
