I started 3 autos 5 days ago. They are Banner, Girl Scout cookies, and Gorilla Glue. All the seed have popped but only 2 actually pushed out the tap root. I planted Banner and it has already taken root. GSC has a root but only about a half centimeter. GG has not pushed out although I can see it (still snug inside the shell)
Question…if I go ahead and plant them, will they take or will they just stay inside their shell? Any advice on getting them going is much appreciated. TIA
What is your germ method? If they have cracked, I would go ahead. 5 days is a pretty long time before planting.
I softened them for 24 hrs in distilled water and then put them in a wet paper towel. Left them undisturbed for 2 more days.
5 days did seem long to me but Ive been afraid to put them to soil. 
Ive been hoping the taproot would go ahead and push out. One did but not the other.
I’d go ahead and plant if they’ve all cracked. Really the point of pre-germinating the seed is to weed out any duds. I’d think I’d want to take my chances in the soil rather than wait much longer in the paper towel.
