A customer has a question and I hope we can get some opinions on it, thanks.
“Hello, I got the mix auto flower pack and ran into a problem. I soaked them 24 hours In a glass of water then transplanted into jiffy pods like I usually do in a humidity dome. Its been 8 days under led lights and I haven’t had a single one of the blueberry autos pop up yet.any suggestions?”
Some seeds take longer than others
Out of 5 I had 2 that popped open “germinated” in 30 hours
1 at 42 hours
1 at 5 days
1 at 6 days 20 hours
Of the 5
3 have sprouted
1 is close and
1 is 2-3 days away

This was my question. Ty for replying. What confused me is all 5 popped and once planted nothing has come through almost like they stopped growing.

Sometimes they take a bit to break through the soil. I germinate differently than you do.
But depending on how far down you planted them they might take a few more days before they emerge.
When you say they popped are you referring to the seed broke open and the tap root was sticking out?
Also how moist are you keeping the jiffy pods?
They only want to be kept moist not wet.
Yes taproot broke through seed shell. Keeping moist not soaking. 10 days have passed and nothing has come up. Never hadthis happen before.
Yeah I would think you would have seen something by now.

I’ve given up. Flat out bad seeds. Won’t waste money again.
As per our conversation on FB…
If your seeing a tap root, the germination was complete. The seed itself appears to be fine. After germination, however, seems to be where the issue was.
The tap roots are very weak and will break very easily. It’s possible, depending on your system, that the seedling drowned, or the tap root broke.
Are you using nutrients?
