Received my order of 5 Do-Si-Dos autoflower seeds last week. Like all previous orders this one arrived without problems.
But unlike all previous seeds these did not perform as well.
First attempt at germinating 2 of the seeds in H2O went for 72 hrs. 1 seed did crack but somehow the tap root became severed from the husk. Perhaps the root adhered to the side of the glass?
So I disposed of the 2.
Next, I put the remaining 3 in H2O to start the process again.
48 hrs later 2 of the 3 cracked, revealing just the tips of the tap roots. The 3rd still not opening.
The 2 seeds that cracked I planted in Happy Frog in solo cups as I have previously. So hopefully in the next handful of days they’ll be on their way.
I germinated as instructed by ILGM in H2O as I have will all of my seeds.
Anyone else experience stubborn Do-Si-Dos auto seeds?
@Willum
I had the same problem took me six seeds to get two of them to sprout a taproot and I’m no rookie to germinating.
Once my seeds went into the dirt like yours they’re all auroflowers just wanted to clear that up. They didn’t do anything outrageous they were small very receptive to light and watering growth was moderate for the first 30 days. However, get ready for a growth explosion between day 32 and 37
In that little six day period they got so damn big I can’t fit anything else in my tent. I’ve got a bunch of girl scout cookie extremes in there but in 6 days it outgrew everything in the tent.
Although I feel your pain on the germination. Once you get them going they’re going to go nuts! And that’s a warning
@Lostgirl Thanks for your info. 2 of the 5 successfully germinated. I planted both in solo cups with Happy Frog. One came up looking a bit gnarly and limped along in the shadow of her partner until I recently pulled the plug. The young root was evidence of issues…
So, then there was one…
However, in anticipation of potential problems I started a single Blueberry auto that emerged above ground only 4 days behind the Do-Si-Dos.
So, we’re on our way. I look forward to the explosion you mention.
Thanks again for chiming in!
