Newer grower needing tent/lighting advice

I’m looking at setting up a 4x4 flower tent. As well as a mother/clone tent. I’m wanting to keep 4 plants in flower always. I’ll be using fox farm soil in either 5 or 7 gal containers. With fox farm nutrients most likely. I’m also currently using bag seeds (best and only real option for me currently). I have used a 600w mh/hps with pretty good success in the past, but was needing some advice on sticking with the 600w mh/hps or trying out the led’s. I’m trying to shoot for around 1lb for a four plant harvest if that seems doable with this type of setup. But I’m also not trying to drop a grand on a tent right now so any and all advice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks Will that’s actually a lot of the same stuff that Ive been looking at online. I did a few grows about 4 years ago or so but the led tech was decently new still so very out of my price range then. I just didn’t know if the led’s were the best affordable option for my setup. I’m just very confused about how they even compare to mh/hps lights that I know created heat and used a lot of electricity. But I also paid for really good ushio bulbs so I’m not sure how the led’s would compare.

@garrigan62
I’ve decided to stick with the hps light. Seems like I’ll only need one light for the same amount output of two led’s, area coverage wise anyway. Having a hard time deciding on tent size since I’m going to be using four seven gallon containers and trying for decently large plants. I wasn’t sure if 3x3 would be large enough. I was also planning on trellis them which I haven’t done before. And that looks like it takes more room up as well. But I could be wrong about that. Would appreciate some extra input on it.

I would run a 4×8 by 7’ tall or better with 2 wxxxl
8 " sealed hoods with 600 watt mh , hps ballasts on two 4×4 scrogg tables rotating on a 4 to 9 week schedule… :wink:
T 5 ho’s for your clone and veg room… light leaks don’t matter in veg… :wink:

@peachfuzz
I would like to have a larger tent but I reside in a not so friendly state. So it’s hard enough to get the fiancé on board with the 4x4 tent. Especially since this is gonna just be taking care of my personal needs and some extra income perhaps. Maybe I should just run two plants at a time and just try and get them as large as I can. That would at least give two square feet per plant.
