Hi everyone this is my first post. I’m setting up to grow a couple of plants to make Rick’s oil and gathering as much information before I start. Can anyone tell me, when making the oil do you use leafs and buds or just buds. Also, it’s summer here in Australia today the temperature got to 38 deg c. I intended to use a grow tent in the back shed but I’m concerned it too hot. Will the plants survive in the heat?? My seeds arrived 2 days ago and I’m keen to get started I will post pictures along the way so people can make suggestions and maybe even learn from my mistakes which I’m bound to make.
may i ask what is ricks oil?

Its a well known remedy for cancer. Also known as phoenix tears. Rick Simpson belives curing cancer with thc not cbd. You can look up his website for the recipe just type in rick simpson on Google @BIGE

Hi, My understanding is that it’s high CBD low THC.

Thats too hot for them. They like cooler temps when they are in seedling stage they are most vulnerable. They want like 73 to 75f in veg and seedling, and a lil warmer for flower at about 78-80f

You can use cbd but on his website it states to use a pure indica with atleast 20% THC. Indica will have high amounts of cbd and thc thats why he suggest using it and because anything with more then 10% sativa will be too energetic and compromise the rso effects. Go to phoenix tears website and read the rso faqs it explains everything needed and the process

Get grain alcohol 190 proof and a rice cooker put leafs or buds or both put in how ever much in a jar or something to mix it in pour till it’s just covers greens drain coffee filter cleaner taste then after your rinse your first batch off put it back in the container and fill it back up and cover again take a wooden spoon and beat it around for 1520 minutes at law broke up nice and well before you even start after you strain it a second time it’s ready to go in the cooker you want to make sure there’s nothing flammable anywhere close if you can do it outside that’s best very potent and it has a high THC level in CBD level it will mess you up if you take too much do your research

Thanks for the info. I’ve spent a lot of time on Phoenix Tears website and Youtube but there was no mention of using leaf and bud. I’ll use both to start. I’ve seen the process Rick uses to make the oil quite a few times now some I’m comfortable to give it a go just need to grow the plants.

I can achieve those temps if I grow them in the house then more them to the tent in the shed when they need transplanting to larger pots which is in several weeks

Try getting a ac or swamp cooler for your shed. Or look up a homemade ac using a fan and such. If its 100°f outside and you put them in the shed you can expect it to be atleast 10° hotter. With a few fans and an ac blowing like 75f I think you could pull it off in the shed. But with no ventilation and ac it wouldn’t be wise to try and grow in there.

Hi all I’m growing Afghan (fem) in soil after 1 week the plant is tall with a thin weak stem is this normal. I’m growing in a grow tent but moved the 2 plants nto the house due to the weather being over 40 deg cel. While in the tent I do have a fan on but not blowing directly on the plants.
