I’m looking for some info on CBD oil and hope you can answer my questions or point me to a site that can. I did an alcohol extraction of some buds and trim. The liquid was filtered and put into silicone pie pans, which were left in a well ventilated area until half the liquid was evaporated. The pans were then put into my Excalibur dehydrator. What I had left was a sticky, very dark brown product that was like a Tootsie Roll candy bar to work with; barely pliable, but not brittle. Is this the CBD oil? Is there any way to determine the concentration of THC or CBD? Hope you can help. Thanks Ray
This is a concentration of all the oils/resins, and should contain whatever THC, CBD, CBG, CBN, etc that was in the material to begin with. The only way to know the levels of each is to have the product tested. If you have an idea of what to expect from the buds that were used, the same should be true for the extraction you have now. Sorry this isn’t more informative, but I hope it helps some.
Sounds like you’ve made yourself some homemade Rick Simpson oil, that should be some strong stuff as long of the starting product was quality. It’s usually very hard to work with, I would recommend putting it on silicone or wax paper and freezing for about 10 mins, then take it out and you can almost roll it around into a long “snake” before it gets too sticky and warm. That will help you get it into a small syringe for easy and exact dosing if that is your end goal.
As elheffe mentioned, you’ll need to have it lab tested to determine the CBD and THC percentages. Unless you knew the appx. CBD% of the stain used, and how much product vs alcohol etc.
