Eek!!! Am I seeing Amber trichomes?
Just gave them nutrients yesterday!! Oh no! Should I be flushing?!
Amber on sugar leaves is a tad premature. Amber on calyx (buds) is what u want
I see lots of purple trichomes which is actually fairly common.
@1HappyPappy
No wayyyyy! I didn’t know that!!
I use Blue Labs. What’s cool is the hydro shops will calibrate and clean them for free. It’s part of. Blue Labs contract with the store! I clean and calibrate my own, but it shows good customer service.
The base of the trichomes can be red, blue, purple or even pink. My last grow had this:
DJBB2X (the DJBB is from a DJ Short’s Blue Berry strain):
And this was my Purple Punch:
Here is a good article on why some plants are purple. The plant has to have the genetic disposition to turn purple. If it doesn’t, you can’t force or stress it to turn purple.
@Caligurl
That’s nice to know about the hydro shops!
And about the trichomes- that’s so freaking cool- thanks for sharing the article!!
How often do you usually have to recalibrate it - I read the instructions and didn’t see it anywhere, and is there a way to tell?
i have same one as you, i put my in the calibration solution before i test it on my water, it always reads right, probably dont need to do that but thats the OCD in me
@BudzMS
Awesome- seems like a smart way to go to make sure it’s always right. Thank ya!
I calibrate mine only once every 2 weeks or so….
@Caligurl
Thank you!!!
@Lorenda_x sorry for late but I calibrate mine every two weeks or so and had mine for a year or so and still works good happy growing .
Thank you no problem!!
