I’ll start off by saying this is my 1st grow and everything is going as expected (I.E, I screwed up a lot). I started off with reflectors on my bases and didnt find out that weed dont like being bottom lit, so that mistake set the girls back a few days. Then I took everything I had read about not feeding auto’s at first and got a nitrogen deficiency so that set them back as well. So now here we are in week 4 and most of the girls are doing well, except Blue Dream (BLD) whom is showing some top leaf edge curling with a little browning on one leaf. the thing I cant figure is the shiny patches on most of the leaves that are curling? You can just make it out in the picture. Ive moved the light on her up 3 times now and her light is a good 4 inches higher than the other girls, but doesnt show any signs of getting better. Any thoughts? Am I just being impatient and need to give her more time to react to lesser light? Anyhow thats how things a
re going, I’m still in the middle of my learning curve on this one. I know they are gonna be stunted, but I’ve got 6 more started with fewer errors than this batch. I’ll just try to keep these girls going 'till the new batch is ready to take over in about a week.
What’s the res PH and PPMs in the BD bucket Growmie. For lighting I would use a meter or the smart phone app PHOTONE. Different lighting intensity needs for the 3 growth stages
I try to keep PH at 6.0, and ppm between 900 and 1200. Usually around 1000.
also I’m using a hundred watt AC Infinity s22 at 18" above canopy. set at 50% intensity.
I did do a foliar mist for a few days to bump my nitro up, but BLD was super healthy when I was misting and I did identical applications on everybody with only BLD having a bad reaction.
I would recommend not misting or foliar feeding past the seedling stage Growmie especially if the lights are on or will come on with wet leaves. This can lead to burning or burn spots on the leaves and in flower can lead to WPM or bud rot
Thanks for the tip OGI. The thing I really owe you a great big thank you for is the photone app. it solved the sun burn mystery for me. So I sat down with the girls and was using the app when I noticed that the lux numbers for BLD was like 15 but everyone elses numbers was in the 11’s. Well after messing with this and that I remembered a couple days ago I moved my pro69 controller inside the tent, but when I unplugged everything it shut my lights off so I reached up and switched the closest light to the door ( the light over BLD) to manual 10. once I plugged everything back in all my lights came on and I went on with the day without giving a thought to putting BLD’s light back on auto. So yup a big ole dose of operator error. Sunburnt my girl, will the leaves uncurl now or do I have to prune them back?
I had to transplant the girls from rdwc to dirt to make room for a fresh start. They have just started going into bloom, but are taking well to the scrog. so all is well for the moment.
