Newb Harvest Question

Hey All :wave:t3: I have two GG#4 photo plants in flowering. They are both at the 6 week mark of the 12/12 light cycle. I was looking for some advice from the community and any advice would be appreciated since this will be my first harvest.

Here is Plant :potted_plant: #1 close up bud and plant pics

Here is the other plant :potted_plant: close up bud and full photo.

I’m seeing some milky trichromes with some of the pistils still white and sticking straight up. My guess would be 2 weeks but looking for feedback on best harvest time or tips and to know how they look at this time mark.

Thank you for all your help!

Your plants look great. Nice job.

I am not the best at predicting harvest time in advance. I do a fine job of figuring out when it is time, just not so good a predicting.

That said I would guess that you have at least 2 - 3 weeks to go perhaps longer. Don’t get impatient. The buds will really fatten up and get dense during the last few weeks, especially the last two.

Clones or seed? Gg is my medical and you are maturing quick. I think she has some weeks left. My clones mature quicker than the bean did but still around 10-12 from flip not counting stretch. If have not grown gg4 it gets very locky if amber her. She will fill out more. Great looking plant. You will be happy. May I also suggest plant stakes? I use them with that shape. Those flowers will get very heavy.

Hey @newbgrow your plant is looking gooey good to me!!
I agree with @merlin44 and would make 2-3 a good time to mark your calendar for harvest.
Checked flower time and looks like GG #4 should be a 8-9 week flower child.
Keep an eye on the Trichomes on the Calyx of your plants not so much the trichomes on the sugar leaves.

Thanks Storm! These are grown from seeds I started seeing the pistils turn amber and some trichomes start to turn milky, I’ve read letting too much of the trichomes turn amber for this strain will just produce a sedative which I’m looking to avoid but don’t want to harvest too early. I will look into the plant stakes I was trying to tie them up to accommodate for the weight, the stakes will be much better

Thanks for the compliment @LateNightGardner I appreciate the advice on looking at the trichomes of the calyx, I was not aware of that!

Watch your red hairs have them recede, at least 2=3 weeks left and check trichomes on calyx happy growing!

It absolutely will. Last chop i pulled at 90% cloudy because the clones have become way too strong. For smoke. My medical friends like it better for smoking but my 80/20 cloudy to amber edibles are great. Smoke it…poof nap time.

Hey All here is an update on plant #1 it has now been 8 weeks since 12/12 light flip. This is a GG#4 photo plant (bag seed) grown in FF OF soil. I’ve already started just giving plain RO water. Still unsure when to harvest, I have time and my goal is to get it to lean a little more to the indica side but not make it a sleeping med. I’m confused on the clear/cloudy ratio your opinions would be greatly appreciated. I don’t see amber in the trichomes. These photos are of the buds on the very top of the canopy.

I took a picture of the entire plant because to me it seems like the buds are small but there are a lot of smaller colas rather than one large one.

Your advice/opinions are greatly appreciated…thank you
