GG4 - Ready to harvest or wait?

Here are some better pics of my GG4 auto. Almost 7 weeks since early onset of flower.

I know I have foxtail and have adjusted my light. Ignoring the new pistols, I need a double check on trich readiness?

Am I still a few weeks out? Hoping so, I just don’t wanna go past the peak potency? More grow time would not hurt my feelings if that is what’s needed.

Hope these are better pics. Pls let me know what you think.

FYI - she looks ready to me but I’m a novice.

How about pics of the whole plant?

How many weeks has the plant been flowering?

I believe early onset of flower was March 30. So I believe I’m about 7 weeks in.

You probably have a couple of weeks to go. Maybe OG can help with the trich photos. My eyesight isn’t good enough to see the state of the trich pics.

Do you have a journal? Please start one if not. New posts each time you have a question doesn’t allow us to go back and see history.

Thanks
I’ll do a journal my next grow

Hard to tell with these pics, some are sugar leaves. My initial assumption from looking at the longer amber pistils is 2 weeks or so. I always estimate 10-12 weeks from flower to harvest. Idicas generally ripen sooner that Sativas and with a hybrid it could go either way or fall somewhere in the middle :love_you_gesture:

I’ll let it go another two weeks and check back in. Hopefully with better photos

My girl grew like crazy but I’m afraid I’ll have nothing but small buds and a lot of popcorn. Maybe 2 weeks will fatten them??

I’m thinking next grow I need to thin those small stems when I do my LST.

I’ll do a journey next grow. Acapulco Gold feminized seeds standing by

They need at least three more weeks.

Give them 2 weeks and you’ll probably be starting to see some meaningful girth.

One of the things we really don’t talk about enough is that peak thc in a plant is not when you’ll see peak yield. Often times, a plant has maximum THC weeks before it’s actually ready/ripe. As a homegrower, you’ll begin to appreciate that dispensary THC %s of 30+ are both absolutely BS and have no actual bearing on whether it’ll get you high. I have a strain that consistently tests around 18% THC that I have to handle with extreme care, it’s potent when stacked against a dispensary bud at 25%.

Anyway, while your plant may be entering “peak THC” territory, you’re aways away from peak bulk. There’s definitely a happy medium in there, where you can achieve nice fat buds that’ll get you stupid high, but it’s a minimum of two weeks away, quite probably more.

This been what have been using. No bud wizard here. I got this on this site.

Thanks for the reply and explanation. Adding to my cannabis education.

I’m “very glad” that it needs 2 (or more) weeks.

I’d rather wait and let the buds fatten.

Thanks!!!

Thanks for the reply and the graphic. I have that as well and try to apply it.

But, it’s only my second grow, so I’m not 100% confident in being able to accurately apply what I’m seeing on my plant to the chart. I’ll get there.

Until then I’m glad to have growers with much more expertise than I have provide guidance.

Thanks!!

keep and eye on the trichomes. I do not see clear in there. Looking ripe to my eyes. Me, I would keep checking until i see some amber, then grade what your seeing to the chart. Go from there.
